She was born in the year 1965 in New England and also spend her initial years growing up over there. Currently, author Cameron resides in Massachusetts along with her husband with a happy married life. Cameron believes that her life is quiet and fairly ordinary. But, she likes it that way because it saves her from overdeveloping a paranoia sense and a feeling of expecting the worst. Having a quirky take on the life and combining it with the habit of looking for details has given author Cameron a vivid life internally. It was released by the Avon publication in 2002. At the start of this story, Emma Fielding is described as a dedicated, driven, and brilliant archaeologist, who likes to search for the things which have been considered lost for many centuries. Over the years, she has become quite efficient in her work. Emma is about to get tenure as an archaeology professor. In her recent excavation, she unearthed an evidence relating to the 17th century settlement of coastal Maine, predating Jamestown. It is considered to be a great archaeological find. However, the evidence is accompanied by a dead body that washes ashore close to the site. This embroils Emma Fielding and her archaeology students in a different type of exploration. Now, as the reputation of Emma is put on the line because of the ruthless machinations from a rival, and a second dead body is discovered, Emma realizes that she much unravel a killer who is hiding among the artifacts. For this, she is required to dig deep into her own past to find the dark secrets that are buried in the archaeological community’s heart. But, if Emma goes ahead with this plan, it might put her life in a great risk.

Another popular book published in this series is called ‘A Fugitive Truth’. This book was also released by Avon in 2004. Author Cameron has mentioned the central characters of this plot as Margaret Chandler and Emma Fielding, and has set the story in Berkshire Mountains, Massachusetts, US. At the beginning of the book, it is told that Emma Fielding awaits a lifetime opportunity in the foothills of Berkshire in Western Massachusetts. She comes to know that she has been given the chance of studying the 18th century diary of the notorious witch named Margaret Chandler. Margaret was an accused murderess and witch, and her home was excavated around 3 months ago by Emma Fielding. Emma is not allowed to read the diary alone, but is accompanied by 3 members from the Shrewsberry Foundation. They are also asked to study Margaret Chandler’s premises and not leave Emma alone for any moment of time. As Emma begins her study, she finds that the three fellows are disturbingly odd. And before she could do anything about them, she learns that one of the members has died. Emma Fielding is not able to find any solace in the dark beauty of the wilderness surrounding Margaret’s home. She thinks that Madam Chandler has encoded some dark secrets in her writings. As she continues to read further, she finds shocking similarities between an old slaying ad the recent death of her fellow archaeologist. Later, the killer makes another strike, which makes Emma Fielding realize that her life is in danger. As there is no other choice left with her, she is forced to investigate criminal activities from the present and past times.
