Dana R Lynn is a traditionally published author from Illinois who writes romance and suspense novels with Christian and Amish themes.
+Biography
Dana R Lynn comes from a suburb of Chicago in Illinois. Growing up in a large family had an impact on her personality. Rather than struggling to make herself heard in the boisterous but loving household, the author took to reading.
Dana loved the written word like few other aspects of life. She spent many an hour in local libraries and bookstores. And she always went home with a few books in hand.
As an adult, Dana went into teaching. She had nurtured a love for Deaf culture earlier on. So when a chance to teach came her way, Dana did not hesitate to work in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing camp.
The work consumed Dana for a while. When she wasn’t teaching, she was operating as an educational interpreter. Writing came into the picture at a later date.
The author is very open about her beliefs and she often expresses gratitude to God for taking her out of Illinois and putting her on the road to publishing success.
Dana has a family that consists of a husband, children, and several pets. Dana says she knew she would marry her husband the moment she met him at a friend’s wedding in Pennsylvania.
Her parents probably thought something had gone wrong upstairs when she got home and told them the news. But clearly, she knew what she was talking about.
+Literary Career
Dana R Lynn has been writing since she was a child. Like most writers her age, she initially experimented with short stories and poems. But as the years went by, she upgraded and it wasn’t long before she began entering Harlequin contests.
One of her submissions eventually elicited the right attention and that got her a contract. The author remembers the day she got the phone call. She was driving to her son’s Boy Scout Resident camp.
He had forgotten a few things that she was taking to him. When she noticed her phone ringing and realized that it was from New York, she parked her car. She remembers being afraid, so much so that she dropped her phone.
When she finally picked up and spoke to the person on the other end of the line, the message she received sent her over the moon.
Dana R Lynn doesn’t believe she would have gone so far if she hadn’t entered so many Harlequin contests. At the time, Dana knew nothing about the publishing field. And it was in preparing for and making submissions for the Harlequin contests that she began to accrue knowledge that would help her down the line.
More importantly, Dana was able to get her manuscripts before an actual professional editor far more quickly than she would have if she had simply made unsolicited submissions as an untested author.
Dana tries and generally succeeds in balancing her writing with her day job. Despite achieving a modicum of publishing success, Dana chose to continue working within the deaf community.
She enjoys her teaching duties. However, finding the time to write can present a challenge for the author, primarily because there is so much activity in her home. It doesn’t help that her husband’s job is very involving and often makes it impossible for him to deal with the rigors of running a home while Dana tries to write.
The difficulties haven’t stopped Dana from pushing forward. She determined a long time ago that she wouldn’t sacrifice her family to keep her writing career going. The author gets her writing done whenever the opportunity arises.
It isn’t uncommon to find Dana R Lynn typing away during her children’s sports practices. For the most part, Dana gets her writing done once everyone goes to bed.
When Dana isn’t writing, she’s spending time with her family. They will wrestle, play sports, ride horses and watch movies.
+Interrupted Lullaby
Maggie Slade left LaMar Pond in a hurry. She had good reason to. Her husband was murdered and a killer had his sights set on Maggie, determined to get the evidence he seemed so sure she had.
Maggie couldn’t stay in LaMar Pond because her pursuer wore a LaMar Pond. As such, relief is the last thing Maggie feels when a LaMar Pond Police officer rescues her from her attacker.
Maggie cannot afford to take any chances, not when she has twin babies to think about. However, Lieutenant Dan Willis is giving her no choice but to return to LaMar Pond to find her husband’s killer.
Maggie must choose to trust Willis in the hopes that he will protect her babies and put her nightmare to rest once and for all.
This book takes readers to LaMar Pond, a location fans of Dana R Lynn will remember from ‘Presumed Guilty’. This book takes some of the side characters from ‘Presumed Guilty’ and gives them an opportunity to shine.
Maggie takes center stage as a woman who has been living under an alias ever since her husband was killed by a policeman. Maggie has managed to evade her husband’s killer for nearly two years but he eventually finds her.
Dan shows up just in time to rescue her. He determines that the best way to keep her safe is to take her back to LaMar Pond.
+An Inconvenient Courtship
All Mr. Darcy has ever wanted is a woman he can love and marry. He believes he has found the wife of his dreams in Miss Elizabeth Bennett. Mr. Darcy is initially hesitant to pursue Miss Elizabeth because of her low status.
Darcy is forced to reassess his position when he almost loses Elizabeth and realizes that he is unable to live without her. The understanding drives Mr. Darcy to risk everything to ensure Elizabeth’s safety and, hopefully, in the process win her heart.
This short story is a Pride and Prejudice variation. The story picks up with Elizabeth suffering an injury at the hands of Caroline’s horse. Caroline was angry that Darcy was paying Elizabeth so much attention.
As Elizabeth is nursed back to health, she begins to see a new side of Mr. Darcy who also comes to realize his feelings for her.
