Danni Roan is a historical fiction author born from Western Pennsylvania. She has always adored country life since she was brought up there. She published essays about childhood in the green mountains under her real name Paula Liddle-Beem.

She is an English teacher, and English being her second language for more than ten years, has motivated her to write Historical Fiction. After she was awarded Masters in Education in Teaching English, she pursued her passion for fiction writing.

Teaching in more than one country, which has exposed her to a different kinds of people from all natures of life and she captures that unique character in her novels.

Katie
Katie is the first novel in The Cattleman’s Daughter series. Will is a cowboy whose work is to ride horses and his trusty horse and carry him all over. After completing his last job, his boss didn’t compensate him, and he’s so ready to move on to another job. On his way, he decides to stop at the mercantile and find out if anyone is looking for a worker. He stays with the couple and is later recommended to the couple’s brother and sent to the broken J ranch in Wyoming.

Katie is the eldest daughter of Joshua James, the owner of the broken J. ranch, who thinks she’s past the age of marriage. She’s the caretaker and the responsible one compared to her siblings. She’s now 24 and feels she’s beyond marriage age. In her mind, her job is to ensure things are running smoothly at the ranch. She feels that it’s her responsibility to look after everyone on the ranch; little does she know that her father has different plans of having his brother look for suitable men for his daughters.

Upon arrival at the ranch, Will soon notices that Katie is a strong woman who works as hard as the men. Her work is to tend and ride the herd of horses on the ranch. Since Katie is the boss’s daughter, Will has to keep himself in check since he isn’t ready to get fired.

Will is 20 years younger than most people working on the ranch and begins to wonder how he will fit there. How will the workers behave taking orders from a person of his age? All he will want is to have a job and family, and a simple inquiry leads him to the ranch and maybe the desires of his heart. He has no family left, so he hopes his new job will give him an ideal family. He finds the place so lively and the boss’s family so welcoming

Can Katie finally let go and follow her heart, or will her mother’s last words bind her forever to a life with no lover to call her own? She’s an independent and dedicated member of her family and has always believed that life is all about responsibility. That’s the reason she chose to work alongside her father, forgetting that she’s a woman.

Like any normal human being, each one’s life struggles are trying to keep a promise they made, and Katie is trying to live up to a promise that is strangling her life. On the other hand, Wilson has nothing but a horse, and he has a dream of owning a ranch someday.

Keeping promises and the fear of missing the chance of having a dream ranch becomes an obstacle for Katie and Wilson, and each knows nothing about the secret plan of the other. Can the two live to learn that there is more to loving and caring than just doing the right thing? Will having a relationship mean that they would never achieve their goals and objectives?

Katie is a beautiful story woven in a way that will grasp the reader’s attention right from the beginning. Their story is filled with adventure, hard work, and love. Danni Roan has done a great job in wonderful world-building and a great cast of characters. The characters are so engaging, and the storyline is great.

Daliah
Daliah is the debut novel in the Brides of Needful Texas series. Daliah Owens first lost her parents, then later her brother, and she was left with no one to call family. Her brother was always her rock and she later got a bank job as a teller to support herself financially. She lived with an older couple named Mr. and Mrs. Hampton, and they were like a family to her.

However, her world fell apart after being accused of stealing from her workplace, which later led to her getting fired. The couple she was living with decided to relocate to Texas and asked her to start life afresh with them. A plan was already set between the Hamptons and other town folks to start a wagon train down to Texas. Is there anything better she can do apart from going to Texas?

She handles the hardships of the train with a lot of bravery, faith, and compassion as she endears herself not only to her employer but also to other members of the band. With her knowledge of healing and nutrition herbs, she is recognized as a great helper among all.

Spencer Gaines is a widower with a young child and has been running from one place to another for the past few years, trying to forget his wife and the situation she left him in. He’s still bitter after the loss of his wife. He finally decides to join his younger brother in Texas. He agrees to board a wagon train carrying people to the small town. He soon signs as a chief scout for the wagon train, and his duties force him to leave his son alone. He finds himself drawn to Daliah, but he struggles with the feeling since he doesn’t want to get close to anyone again.

Many things draw them together on the train to Texas, one of them being Spenser’s son Chad. Will he listen to his feeling, or will he keep his stand? Does Daliah really need his attention?

Danni Roan has created interesting characters that pull the reader from the first page.
