Darkness series by K.F. Breene
Author K. F. Breene pens the “Darkness” series of paranormal romance novels. The series began publication in the year 2014, when “Into the Darkness” was released.

The series stars a girl named Sasha. Sasha is able to see things in darkness that nobody else is able to. Men hidden by shadows that moved through the night. She later finds out that these men are real, and is later taken into a whole new world that she never would have dreamed of before this.

“Into the Darkness” is the first novel in the “Darkness” series, which was released in the year 2014. Sasha has grown up knowing she is not normal.

She knows that if she points out that she can see invisible people would put her on a fast track right to a padded cell. Orphaned when she was five, Sasha soon learns a tip very important for her own survival: just keep silent and keep out of the spotlight.

One night, it all changes for her. She and Jared, her boyfriend, find themselves stranded while on the wrong side of town. Quickly, the men she was sure were just hallucinations, are quite real. Not to mention extremely dangerous.

A new world opens up all around her, and she meets him. He is The Boss. An alpha leader that tugs on her body and entrances her mind. Sexual and primal, his people have their own rules. They do not play nice all the time.

Danger rises all around her, and her differences may not be the only thing that is able to save her life. She has to embrace what she has been trying so hard to hide, while she resists the person that her body is craving the most. Sasha has finally found these shadow men, and they are going to change her life forever.

Sasha is a fantastic character, being a strong and adaptable person that is a bit funny and pretty awesome. K. F. Breene takes her readers out of their comfort zone and pushes the envelope with this one. She puts all of her characters through hell, with a writing style all her own.

“Braving the Elements” is the second novel in the “Darkness” series, which was released in the year 2014. With Sasha’s goal of fitting in, she hopes her odd abilities are going to finally make real friendship a possibility. Her magic does not function just like everybody else’s. What she believed would make her belong, sets her even more apart than before.

Stefan, all but promised to some other woman, has been attempting to keep his mind on his actual duties, rather than the irresistible and free-spirited human. She is threatened and he is unable to keep his distance any longer. He realizes he is going to stop at nothing to protect her, as well as, more importantly, make her his.

One thing clicks into place, and another spirals way out of control. Stefan’s clan is not the only group that would be able to benefit from a highly rare kind of magic. Their enemies are willing to stop at nothing to ensure they get what they want.

The dialogue is excellent, these characters are like real people, and the suspenseful love/lust that exists between both Stefan and Sasha does a great job of hooking the reader in. the growth of the characters, action, and steamy moments go a long way in capturing the interest of the reader and holding it.

“On a Razor’s Edge” is the third novel in the “Darkness” series, which was released in the year 2014. If Sasha believed life would slow down after she was captured, she was very wrong.

Having a high amount of magic, but knowing how you are supposed to use it, has gotten more than just a little problematic. Having a tough time getting her power under control has everybody on their toes as they wait for something to explode. Then there is the issue of loving Stefan, and being unable to mate him because she has zero clue how to lead, something that is necessary if she is looking to rule by his side.

No, nothing has gotten at all easier.

With the coming visit of the Regional as well as his white mage, the pressure is intensified for Stefan and Sasha. Many issues are riding in the balance, and a single word from the authoritative pair might have Sasha back in her former life and back in danger, without the resources to continue on. Sasha must learn to battle on while she walks a razor’s edge.

This is a compelling series of books that is filled with mythological creatures and beings that are skillfully remade in such a way to make them normal. With each book the books are able to make the readers more intrigued by what is going on.

“Demons” is the fourth novel in the “Darkness” series, which was released in the year 2014. It has been a long journey, but it is official. Sasha has finally earned her mantle as the least knowledged mage in all history. She has gotten a new Best Friend Forever and a very grouchy bodyguard. With this new team with her at her side, she learns this profession.

Her experience level is about to be fast tracked, though.

On some routine trip, in order to check on a perimeter breach, she comes across an ugly demon that was called by an experienced magic worker. This horrifying discovery that opens up a deeper issue. Stefan’s troubled past as well as the reason he mistrusts the Mata so much.

While Sasha is fighting to fend off the physical demons, Stefan is struggling in order to fight the demons from his past. Should he fail, his future with Sasha is going to be lost.

It is great to see each of these characters forming family units of their own. Another book in the series that flows with ease from blood bath battles, from witty banter to some intense discussion to steamy sex scenes. This is a fun series to read, and takes readers into a different and a new place of the genre of paranormal romance.
