The Twists & Turns of Matrimony and Murder (2017)Description / Buy at Amazon

An American writer who focuses largely on mystery novels, the genre novelist David Bishop is well known for creating novels that engage and entertain the reader, keeping them constantly guessing throughout, whilst also creating compelling characters too who really manage to leap of the page, whilst also resonating with the reader on a more personal level, something which he manages for a worldwide audience due to the universality of his themes and ideas. Writing in a strong and confident manner, he is able to engage the reader on a more intimate level, as well as providing them with a clear set of goals and ambition with his characters, as it is clear where they are heading and who they are.

Knowing and understanding what it is that he wants to write about, Bishop creates stories and ideas that he’s clearly passionate about, which is a quality that rubs off on the reader, ultimately allowing them to be a part of the story themselves. Not only that, but he clearly knows how to craft a mystery as well, keeping the reader constantly hooked with a set of questions from the very outset, not letting up until the very end. This makes for highly compelling stories that both engage and entertain in equal measure, allowing the the reader to feel the suspense throughout, something which he is also a master in building. His characters are also extremely well drawn too, with backstories that make them feel highly fleshed out and fully three-dimensional, allowing them to come to life off of the page for the reader. With a highly unique style too, he makes the genre all his very own, ultimately finding his own place within the format, creating something that is entirely new and idiosyncratic in the process.

This ensures that everything remains fresh and original, as he avoids the many cliches and well worn genre tropes that may befall a lesser writer working within his field. It is very much his own voice that he writes in, allowing the stories to come alive, as well as the many recurring protagonists who also continually return throughout his many series; them being personalities that his legion of loyal readers have come to clearly know and love over the years. With clear arcs and ongoing stories it is clear that he has much love for them as his readers, always paying attention to the smallest of details at every twist and turn. This is something that’s expected to continue on into the foreseeable future, as it doesn’t look like he’s stopping any time soon, with a lot more to come yet.

Early and Personal Life

Born in Washington, D.C., in America, David Bishop grew up as the son of Navy man, as he would move around a lot from an early age, all the while retaining a strong passion for both reading and writing. In the years to come he would begin to nurture and harness this talent, constantly feeding his love of literature, creating what was to be his career as an author in the following years. Becoming a financial analyst prior to becoming a full-time writer he would gain a lot of experience, something which stays with him, as he remains happily married to this very day.

Writing Career

Bringing out his first book in 2011 with his debut title ‘The Beholder’, David Bishop was soon well on his way to becoming a fully fledged writer of mystery novels. This book would also go on to become the first in the series of ‘Maddie Richards’ novels, followed by a collection of other series too, such as the ‘Matt Kile’ books, the ‘Linda Darby’ series and the ‘Jack McCall’ novels. It was these series that then helped make his name and his brand, thus cementing him as one of the foremost mystery novelists currently working within his field to date.

Money and Murder

Brought out through the ‘Telemachus Press, LLC’ publishing outlet, this was first released on the 4th of November in 2012 to an already eagerly awaiting audience. Setting up the third title in the ongoing series of ‘Matt Kile Mystery’ novels, this carries on from where the last left off, providing another mystery for the intrepid ex-cop and ex-con Matt Kile to solve. Providing plenty of twists and turns along the way too, it really manages to come in to its own as well, bringing its own unique and idiosyncratic story to the table.

Taking place in Copper City in Arizona, America, this sees P.Q. Winston Rutledge as the richest man living there, although he now believes that someone is trying to kill him. With relatives in pursuit of his fortune, each of them has their own story to tell, as they all appear to have their own set of unique characteristics, all making them fascinating in their own way. Survived by a widow with a daughter who’s the same age as her, he also has two sons, one of whom has a secret to tell that’s quite unlike any other. Who will be murdered? Can the killer be found? How will Matt Kile deal with money and murder?

Hometown Secrets

Marking the second title in the ongoing collection of ‘Linda Darby’ novels, this charts the next thrilling investigation for the ever resourceful single divorcee come amateur sleuth Linda Darby. Released through the ‘Paradox Publishing’ label this time, it would be brought out on the 5th of March in 2015 to much acclaim, continuing in much the same vein as before. Carrying on from where the last left off in the series it manages to capture the style and the tone that made the first work so well, whilst also bringing some new elements to the table for the overall series.

Needing to return to her hometown for the reading of her recently deceased mother’s will, Linda Darby hopes that nobody will recognize her there. With the grandson of the town’s founder being fully in charge of the entire town, it seems that he has everyone in his pocket from the sheriff to the judge. Wanting to help her old friends break free from his rule of tyranny, Darby hopes to find a way to restore order and true justice and equality to the town. How is she going to go about it though? Can she really manage it? What lie behind the hometown secrets?
