The Dane Maddock Adventures series written by author David Wood consists of a total of 7 books published between the years 2004 and 2015. The first novel of the series was titled ‘Dourado’ and was published by the Gryphonwood Press publishing house in the year 2004. The plot of this novel is set in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, during the time of the year 1829, and revolves around the happenings in the lives of the primary characters named Bones Bonebrake, Dane Maddock, and Kaylin Maxwell. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, author David has given the description of a sunken treasure in the form of an ancient Biblical artifact. It is believed that the history of the sunken treasure dates back to the origin of the humankind. On January 25, 1829, a Portuguese rig called Dourado had sunk off the Indonesian coast. Due to this, it had lost its cargo containing the priceless treasures belonging to the Holy Land. It was believed that one of the lost relics had an ancient artifact that held the key to an old mystery. Later, it is learned that there is someone who does not want anyone to get close to the lost treasure. Kaylin Maxwell had lost her father who was desperately trying to search for the lost treasures on the Dourado. Now, she has hired a former Navy Seal and a current treasure hunter named Dane Maddock to unravel the mystery behind the ancient treasure and her father’s death. Dane Maddock begins to locate the position of Dourado along with his partner named Uriah Bonebrake. He seems pretty much close in finding the lost Biblical artifact that holds several disturbing truths efficient enough to shake the very foundations of the church and question the fundamental truths about the existence of the humans. Dane and Bonebrake take the readers on a perilous adventure, carrying them from the ancient stone cities to the depths of the Pacific and unraveling the mystery behind the sinking of the Dourado.
