Author Debbie Rigaud’s writing career began covering entertainment and news for magazines. She has interviewed ‘real’ girls, politicians, social figures, and celebrities. The real girls are the ones that she enjoyed interviewing the most. The wide ranging articles she has written have appeared in Vibe Vixen, Heart & Soul, The Source, YSB, Inside TV, Seventeen, CosmoGIRL!, and Entertainment Weekly.

She was born in Manhattan to a Haitian immigrant family, and is the third of four daughters. When she was born, her family was living in Brooklyn. Before too long, her parents packed everybody up and moved them to East Orange, New Jersey.

Her work is from the young adult and romance genres. Her debut novel, called “Perfect Shot” was released in the year 2009. She also writes the “Alyssa Milano’s Hope” series with Alyssa Milano.

“Perfect Shot” is the first stand alone novel, which was released in the year 2009. Who wouldn’t want to be a cover girl?

Volleyball is London Abrams’s first love, so why would she enter some online modeling competition? The answer is a super hot guy named Brent St. John. London spots Brent as he signs in contestants at some store and she gets in line just to say hi to him. But she never thought that she would make it into the competition.

London is now up against fourteen other hungry fashionistas that are willing to do whatever they have to win. All she wants is to win Brent’s heart. The money surely wouldn’t hurt, though. If London is able to play things right, she will win the contest, the cash, and the boy. The game has just begun.

London serves as a cool role model that has some empowering confidence. Fans found themselves liking her, feeling she had a good head upon her shoulders and very determined but is able to have some fun. Readers found this one to be easy to read with a light and cute romance, and unique in the way it features a black girl who works on embracing her own natural beauty.

“Truly Madly Royally” is the second stand alone novel, which was released in the year 2019. Zora Emerson did not come here to play. She is enrolled in the rather prestigious summer program, and is all ready to use what she has been learning in order to change the world, or her corner of New Jersey, for starters.

Zora is not expecting to vibe with any of her privileged classmates. It makes her shocked to find that she has got some chemistry with the funny, undeniably cute, and funny Owen Whittelsey. He turns out to literally be a prince. Meaning, that yes, his parents are the queen and king of a tiny European country.

Now, her summer looks much more complicated. Particularly when a guy named Owen asks her to be his date at the wedding of his older brother. Will her feelings for Owen, not to mention her own sense of self, be able to survive this royal chaos?

Debbie Rigaud brings insight and sparkling humor to this romantic comedy all about ruling your very own destiny. Zora is a likable character right off the bat who, with her humor and sharp wit, grabs your attention. Readers felt like they got to experience a lot of things with this character over the course of the book. This book is tons of fun book and very cute.

“Project Middle School” is the first novel in the “Hope” series, which was released in the year 2019. Hope is just eleven years old, and she would like to be an astrophysicist. She loves to swim, her best buddy Sam, her two rescue dogs, and Galaxy Girl comics.

Hope thinks it is always a good day to champion a good cause on, and defend an underdog, and save the future. Most importantly, she still believes in dreaming big. This is why she enrolled in all the advanced classes at her new school. She is confident in her abilities and smart. Hope seems strong on the outside, there is still another side of her. She is just a regular girl attempting to make it through middle school intact.

The start of sixth grade has come, and Hope’s BFF soon meets a new group of buddies in her classes. She is unsure how to handle it. She and her friend Sam have been inseparable. Things do not go very well for Hope. She embarrasses herself in front of her entire class, and then she goes and gets off on the wrong foot with Camila, her new classmate.

Science club doesn’t even go as originally planned. Not one of the boys in the club is going to listen to a single idea from the girls. Camila and Hope are stuck doing the more boring part of their science project, despite it being their idea.

Hope is determined to prove herself to the guys, even if she has to do a bunch of extra work all on her own. She knows that sometimes changing the world starts off small. Now Hope has got a mission. Will she be able to turn the science club into a place that welcomes everybody and make some new buddies along the way?

Hope’s empathy, relatability, kindness, and can-do attitude is going to inspire a generation of do-gooders. She is a strong female that will not let her voice (or any of her female peers) be silenced and loves science. Each time she takes things too far or makes an unfair judgment, she sees her mistake and will own up to her actions.

“Project Animal Resuce” is the second novel in the “Hope” series, which was released in the year 2020. Hope Roberts is just eleven years old. Hope decides to do what she can to keep the local animal shelter from shutting down. It is where she found her two furry buddies. It must stay open in order for the other animals there can find fur-ever homes of their own, too. Will Hope be able to get the support she really needs in order to keep the shelter’s doors open?
