Debra Dunbar is an American author of romance, mystery, thrillers, science fiction, and fantasy books. She lives in a cabin in the woody Maryland with her three sons and their four-legged friends. A Demon Bound

A Demon Bound, the debut book in the Imp series begins by introducing the leading Samantha Martin who is a demon. Her name appears odd for an imp, but people still know her by that name together with a group of others that periodically come. Martin is known to be a demon that has been acting like a human being for the last 40 years.

People wonder why Samantha had to have that particular name in the yet she is still in the human kingdom. The reason behind her name might be because of the human beings she met and ‘owned who were identified with that name. In this book, ‘own’ means a demon ‘absorbing’ a person into their souls and eventually create bodies that resemble those they have already ‘own.’ However, not all the bodies they ‘own’ are human beings; some of them are dogs.

Samantha has lived on earth for forty years to date, and her age is not forty years, and this is not her first visit on the planet. The demons that come the same way as they cause a lot of damage anywhere they feel suitable after which they go back to Hel.

Samantha is not the type of demons that pretend to be good for people to like them instead shows her true colors. After she left Hel forty years ago, she has accomplished many missions and making her a slum lord. She does not show off her powers because if she does, the avenging angels will become interested in her activities and focus all their attention on her.

Most of the days, she spends time teasing her close neighbor, who has turned out to be a good friend. A neighbor is a handsome man named Wyatt, and the two have created a new relationship. Unfortunately, things turn sour when a native werewolf threatens her to reveal her real self or else she will do it herself. Even though shows how Samantha is not kind, she is also not that bad as compared to other paranormal creature living among people.

Debra Dunbar uses humor when Samantha seems not to understand what people are discussing most of the time. She has no time to mind about the people since she is busy thinking about relationships and clashing with the vengeful angel who has lately drawn to her n an unusual Manner.

Samantha is fond of irritating people after which she goes off the radar, and her tactics make the story more charming. Although it does not have any powers, to deal with the ongoing issues, he remains very loyal and stays with Samantha the whole time.

Samantha’s tour is interfered with when the rental agent introduces her to Candy. The three meet at the club, and the time Samantha and candy meet some danger signals when an angel named Gregory shows up. Every individual in the club immediately turns to stare at Gregory adoringly.

Samantha walks out of the club, making sure that the angel does not see her, and immediately she is outside, she notices that Candy has followed her. Candy stares at her in a manner that makes Samantha realize that candy is aware that she is a demon. Samantha is not conscious of what candy is although she stayed a life where she can distinguish different people on the earth.

Samantha has decided to stay low using only a little portion of his powers but living as a human being at the same time. There is a reason for the low usage of skills by the demons after a war that was fought over one million years that have past where both the Angels’ and the demons began a battle where none lost or won.

After the war, the demons went to stay in Hel while Angels lived in their kingdom and often patrol the earth, killing the demon they come across as they also guard the humans.

The story ends refreshingly and fantastically, leaving you to want to know more about demons. It is interesting to learn more about a female demon that is almost a thousand years old and comes to earth in the form of a forty –year –a mature human being. The author elaborates how most of the demons come to the planet in shapes of men and women of all ages and sizes. The author uses a good world building, leaving you to want to read more.

Brimstone and Broomsticks

Brimstone and broomsticks are the debut book in the accidental Witches series. The author introduces Cassie, a hot-tempered lawyer, who is sent to her home village to give a defense to a human who got into problems after he fought with the werewolves.

Cassie is from a town named Accident and very beautiful and a tight but low laying paranormal lawyer. A hot demon is on vacation in the city and starts trouble by mistake, and Cassie is stranded being his lawyer when the man he fought in the bar with is nowhere to be found. Lucien and Cassie are left to find out what is going on.

Lucien is the name of the man who is being defended in the case after he took on all the local werewolves which got him into severe troubles. Cassie is determined to help him clear his name and immediately finds herself attempting to take the role of her late grandmother even though she is not willing to take it.

Cassie and Lucien work together to fight against the seven witches calling themselves the seven sisters.
Brimstone and broomsticks are humorous and lighthearted, giving the series an enjoyable start.
