Debra Parmley is an American bestselling romance, historical romance, and poetry. She got started in traditional publishing in 2008 but now publishes all her works under Belo Dia Publishing Incorporated, her own press.

The author was born on June 7th in Columbus, Ohio, and shares a birthday with Liam Neeson Prince, Dean Martin, and Tom Jones. Aged one year old, she was adopted and was raised in Springfield Ohio.

Debra is one of those lucky people that got to marry her high school sweetheart. In fact, she bet one of her friends five dollars that she would ask him out and she did. Parmley is now a married woman with two grown children and three grandchildren.

She has been a resident of the small town of Bartlett, Tennessee near Memphis for more than two decades. She remembers that right across her house was the immense and very fascinating town of Memphis, which she always wanted to visit as a kid.

Having lived in Bartlett for years, she finally sold her house and now lives full time in her motorhome, from where she writes her novels based on her adventures and travels.

Parmley has always had a fascination with folktales and fairy tales ever since she was a child. When she went to the Scranton, PA-based Marywood University, she was a winner of a creative writing competition in informal expository and creative prose.

While she was in college, she was so good with poetry that some of her work was published in prestigious literary journals. Debra Parmley would ultimately graduate with an English Literature degree.

Parmley’s first published work after graduation was “Vampire From Memphis,” a short story that was published in “More Monsters From Memphis,” a horror anthology that is now defunct. That story would go on to get a nomination for the Darryl Award.

She has gone on to become an author of romance across several subgenres. She has said that she writes to spread love one story at a time.
In 2021, she started penning novels using her maiden name Debra Bishop, under which she has published all her nonromance titles.

Debra Parmley penned her debut novel when western author Dusty Richards challenged her to write a western. In the process of writing her novel, she started thinking why not make it a historical romance.

As such, “Desperate Journey,” her debut would become a western historical romance. The novel made the shortlist for the Bobbi Smith writing contest and was also an American Title II finalist in an event organized by Booklovers Magazine, The Romantic Times, and Dorchester Publishing.

Even before the latter awards had been concluded, she was contacted by an agent. It was no more than a year before Samhain Publishing purchased her novel and granted her a $100 advance and a traditional publishing deal.

The work was published in ebook format in 2008 and came out in paperback and hardback in 2009. She has never looked back since as she has become a prolific romance author.

“Montana Delta Rescue” by Debra Parmley is the story of Ricky Trumbull, a K9 handler with Delta Force that has been working with Hercules his dog for years. They could not be more in tune and have completed tens of missions together.

But then there is an accident and Ricky is buried under a huge pile of debris and Hercules finds and stays with him until he is rescued. But the man is sent home while the dog is assigned to another soldier.

However, Hercules does not get along with his new handler and the dog ended up discharged after being hurt. Rocky loves the dog too much and signs the paperwork to get him back.

On the other hand, is an aspiring actress named Marilyn Mae Teals that has been the girlfriend of Tony Santoro for sometime now. She finally managed to get everything she ever wanted but the big part in a movie still eludes her.

Given that she has some free time before she goes to a practice set, she decides to go see her girlfriend. But what she sees at his place gets her horrified and she runs to her friend Sadie’s place in Colorado.

Debra Parmley’s novel “Montana Marine” is a western adventure fiction work that introduces Jack Barr, a former gunnery sergeant. He has been trying very hard to get used to the lax life in retirement but deep down all he wants is some action.

As such, when his friend tells him that there is a bodyguard job protecting an actress he immediately takes it. The woman he will be protecting is a big-time actress named Angelica Glory who always gets her way.

Lucy Woods her assistant is used to getting calls at all hours and the yelling but often wishes she could quit. But Lucy needs money for her food and rent and moreover, she cannot find a better paying job.

The two women soon have to flee to Montana until a deranged stalker that was obsessed with the actress is apprehended. It is in Montana that Angelica tries to seduce the handsome bodyguard Jack as she is so bored.

But Jack is more attracted to the assistant Lucy, even if they have little time for each other given their obligations to Angelica.

“Montana SEAL Protector” by Debra Parmley is the story of Ellen Young, who is learning self-defense at the Triple C Ranch.

She will also be getting a new life and new identity so that she can stay hidden from the stalker who escaped the police dragnet. She is really hoping that things will work out for her in the end.

Meanwhile, Travis Bannerman is a member of the Brotherhood Protectors after he left the Navy SEALs. He has lost his wife and is now responsible for his son Scotty.

Given that he only does gun training for a few hours a day, he can spend more time with his son.

When Ellen meets Travis, she feels an instant attraction even though fraternizing is now allowed. Travis has also noticed the beautiful woman that is afraid of guns.

Looking to help her and also get close to her he arranges a private lesson. Their lesson goes well and she soon becomes proficient with guns.
Things get interesting when she is invited to work as a kindergarten teacher at Eagle Falls, where Scotty who is Travis’ son goes.
