Dee Dee M. Scott is an American author that has made a name as a playwright, a film producer, and an entrepreneur.

+Biography

Dee Dee M. Scott is a native of South Carolina, specifically Florence. The author has always been pretty business minded, which is why she went on to study Business Management and Entrepreneurship in College. Life initially led the author down the educational path.

She was a teacher at an elementary level for a number of years. She eventually went into life coaching, this while dabbling as a fitness trainer. However, books have always been her first love. And once the opportunity to write fiction came, she immediately leaped upon it, writing and publishing ‘My Husband’s Woman’, her debut novel in 2009.

Not only was the book a hit amongst readers but Dee Dee M. Scott was so enamored by what she had created that she decided to adapt ‘My Husband’s Woman’ into a stage play. Fans of the author probably have fond memories of its tour across South Carolina.

Scott’s writing career was already starting to sore by this point. The Golden Pen Playwright Award she won for her stage play only built upon her renown. The author believes that her books sate a need on the market that hasn’t been satisfactorily met by the books being published today.

+Literary Career

Dee Dee M. Scott has been writing since she was six. She isn’t really sure how she picked it up. It was just a habit she had and couldn’t stop. At that age, she had a tendency to write songs and then get her siblings to memorize the lyrics.

Her mother would then force them all to perform the songs for her friends. Scott appreciates the effort because it drove her to keep writing. As she matured, the author took an interest in poetry.

As with most authors, college was a bit of a distraction for Scott. It wasn’t a complete waste. She believes she gained many skills that she went on to utilize later in life. But she also admits that she took a bit of a detour from writing once she got to college.

Things changed when Scott had her first son. The pregnancy brought with it a couple of challenges. The author fell ill and it took her quite some time to recover. Scott might have chosen to abandon her writing dreams but her imagination never left her.

She spent years dreaming up all sorts of stories in her head, stories that she never put to good use; and Scott admits that, while her work did get in the way, part of the reason she chose to shelf her passion for writing was fear.

Once she fell ill, Dee Dee M. Scott remembers regretting the fact that she had spent so many years letting her writing craft go to waste. So she promised God that if she recovered from her illness, she would plunge headlong into the writing and publishing industry. She wouldn’t hide her passion for writing any longer.

And once Scott recovered, she hit the ground running. She began to pour every idea that had been lurking in her brain onto paper. At the time, though, she was mostly writing in notebooks. And I wasn’t long before the notebooks began to crowd her closets.

She was bought a computer and that one step was enough to give the author the impetus to actually write, finish a manuscript and submit it to an agent.

The moments following the author’s completion of her manuscript were hectic. She did not exactly know what to do next. She was getting a lot of advice from everyone and not all of it made sense.

She remembers making a submission to a couple of agents. But none of them took the bait. In fact, no one seemed that interested in giving Dee Dee M. Scott’s book a shot. Such rejection should have been enough to destroy the author’s self-esteem.

More talented authors have given up on their dreams because they couldn’t survive the discouragement that came from being rejected. However, rather than being discouraged, Scott was just confused.

On the one hand, the agents did not seem to want her debut novel. On the other hand, the people in her life who had read her first novel all gave it high marks. They couldn’t put it down. The divergent views told Scott that readers were most likely hungry for her story but publishers were too stuck in their old ways to see what she could do.

So Scott decided to go the self-publishing route. People warned her against it. They told her that self-published authors don’t succeed. But Scott wouldn’t listen. More than that, she went ahead and made her own company – Ahsyad Publications—and published her book through it.

Dee Dee M. Scott has since found success as an indie author. Her books are about family and sacrifice and forgiveness.

+My Husband’s Woman

Meshia is a 20-year-old woman. She’s the kind of beauty that can have any man she desires. But all she wants is Byron, a successful attorney, and husband to Alexandra.

Byron believes he is living the dream, not only successful in his career but also enjoying the adoration of a wife he loves and a mistress for whom he lusts.

Alexandra’s life comes crashing down when she learns of her husband’s infidelity. Neither Byron nor Meshia predicts what she does in response.

This is Dee Dee M. Scott’s debut novel. The book looks at the exploits of Alexandra, a mentally unstable woman who learns of her husband’s infidelity and then proceeds to exact her vengeance against him and his mistress.

+Sent From Heaven

Maya Smith is a best-selling romance writer who doesn’t believe in true love. Her life is mostly consumed by the baby she must raise on her own and she doesn’t expect a prince on a horse to rescue her anytime soon.

Ford Tucker is a single father whose life revolves around his work and his daughter. When the doctor takes Maya on as a patient, passion ignites between them. However, before the pair can pursue their happily-ever-after, a deadly secret emerges and threatens to destroy their relationship.
