Denise Hildreth Jones is one of the highly praised authors from The United States, who is famous for writing her books based on the literature & fiction, memoirs, and biography genres. She is particularly well known for writing the Savannah series, along with s few other standalone novels. Other than writing, author Denise loves SEC football, good food, her family and friends, Coca Colas, and Jesus. She feels proud to be a southern girl. Author Denise is also a teacher of Bible Study and is the head of a group called Reclaiming Hearts Ministries, which is based in Tennessee. Most the books written by her have been labeled as witty and smart by reviewers at The Library Journal. For a couple of times, author Denise has been featured in Southern Living because of her excellent books. As of today, she resides in Franklin, Tennessee, along with her beloved husband, 5 children, and lovely pet dog. Whenever author Denise is not busy with her writing works, she spends her time leading her study group. While growing up, author Denise was under the constant guidance of her preacher father. When she finished her high school graduation, she had already lived in 8 different cities, attending as many different schools. However, her heart was still attached to South Carolina deeply. Author Denise went on to graduate with a major in Journalism from the South Carolina University. She considers herself lucky that she went through a stable college period during her graduation.

Denise always wanted to become a Christian singer. After a couple of weeks of graduating with a BA degree in Journalism as well as a minor degree in Sports, author Denise moved to Nashville to fulfill her dream. However, she was not able to achieve it. Instead, Denise got involved in something else, which she believes God had planned for her. After a period of 6 months in Nashville, Denise came across a woman named Nancy Alcorn, the Founder of the MMA. Nancy asked her to help with the completion of her book, Echoes of Mercy. And Denise is of the opinion that it was because of this invitation that she found her new passion and also discovered her natural gift for writing. And from then on, she started writing on a wide variety of subjects. For a period of 10 years, author Denise was involved in writing for others. At the same time, she also discovered her passion for teaching. She received an invitation to teach a class of college and career at a church. In the year 2002, author Denise took the decision of writing her own stories. She chose nonfiction to start off with. Author Denise intended to be well known for writing powerful Christian Living and Bible Studies books, which would impact the people in greater ways. However, she was not able to get any of her books published. But, she did not lose faith in her writing and decided to shift her focus towards writing fiction stories. Author Denise attempted to write her debut novel with only the 3 things that she very well knew about, beauty pageants, crazy people, and the south. Eventually, she was able to publish her first book in 2004, under the title of Savannah from Savannah. The story of this book is about a young girl who works as a newspaper reporter. She writes stories of human interests for a local newspaper. The first column that Savannah writes about is related to a rigged beauty contest of which her own mother is a well known former queen. According to author Denise, the gift of this story laid the foundation of her journey of fiction novels, which has now spanned over a total of 8 novels. Through all her books, Denise tries to give the message of God’s redeeming power and the beauty of the hearts designed by God. Her teachings make her a powerful teacher for the current and future generations. In 2007, author Denise faced a heartbreaking divorce after being married for 13 years. This caused her to become distant from her writing, traveling, and Bible Study for around a year. During that period, the only thing that she focused on was healing and reclaiming her heart. She learned to let go the pain caused by the dreams that she was not able to achieve. Later on, Denise wrote a book based on her experiences during the period and how she was able to regain herself back to life.

The Savannah series written by Denise Hildreth Jones is comprised of a total of 3 books, which were released between the years 2004 and 2006. All the books feature the lead character as Savannah Phillip, a newspaper reporter living in Georgia. The first book of the series is titled ‘Savannah from Savanah’. It was released by the Thomas Nelson publication in 2004. At the start of the book, Savannah is shown securing first place in a contest of fiction novels after which she becomes certain that she will be able to publish her novel. But later, she discovers that she won because of her mother’s influence, who is a former diva. Savannah becomes very furious when she learns about this and decides to publish her novel. She drops her dream and head back home to prove to herself and everyone else that she can make a name for herself on her own. Savannah follows the footsteps of a columnist for a daily newspaper, The Savannah Chronicle, and manages to get a job as a reporter in the same agency. With this job, she vows to work sincerely and show only the truth. The first assignment that comes to her is to investigate a beauty pageant. This new journey enables Savannah to forge new dreams. On the course, she goes through various heartaches, but does not stop to do what is right.

The next book of the series was published as ‘Savannah Comes Undone’. This book was also released by Thomas Nelson in the year 2015. The starting sequence of the book shows that Savannah watches a lead story about her mother in the evening news. This was normal for Savannah as she knew that her mother had the knack of featuring in the news very often because of her activities. But, when she is shown chained to a monument in downtown, Savannah becomes very shocked. She rushes to save her mother and find out the person responsible for causing her trouble. Before this incident, Savannah used to think that she knew her mother very well, but now she is not sure whether she knows even herself. With all the drama going on in the town that she covers in her columns, Savannah seems determined to get to the bottom of the new drama that has arrived in her personal life too. This book was equally well appreciated by the critics and readers worldwide. This helped it to become successful, which motivated author Denise to work on her future books.

I absolutely loved “Savannah From Savannah”. It made me feel part of the book from her thoughts, to her locale, to the people around her. Her insight also helped settle some questions in my own mind. The description of “sweet tea being a life necessity” is so true. But the story of the wasp and the sedated horse almost had me on the floor. Keep ’em coming.

Enjoying your writing I read Christian Historical novels and Christian fiction. Recently was in a service where you brought the morning message. Also love Franklin – just wish it would not be so progressive.
