The 4th book is also expected to be published later in the year. This successful mystery series is penned by a USA Today bestselling writer of the crime/suspense genre from America named Lisa Regan. Author Regan has created the chief protagonist for this series in the form of Josie Quinn. She is described as a detective hailing from a small town in America called Denton. Josie Quinn is known to take matters in her own hand very often. She is also known to get suspended from the department for misconduct. However, because of Josie Quinn’s ability in solving some of the most difficult cases she is respected by everyone in the force. Over the course of the series, Josie Quinn takes up a number of mysterious cases and investigates them with full determination. She always looks to catch the culprits and make them serve justice for the crimes committed by them.

The debut book of the Detective Josie Quinn series written by author Lisa Regan is entitled ‘Vanishing Girls’. It was published by Bookouture in 2018. This book features the main characters as Josie Quinn, Ramona, and Isabelle Coleman. As the story starts, it is described that a 17 year old girl named Isabelle Coleman goes missing and everyone in Denton gets involved in searching for her. Their search ends in the discovery of Isabelle’s phone and another teenage girl that no one knew was missing. Josie Quinn starts investigating the case in spite of being on suspension for misconduct. She interacts with the mysterious girl, but couldn’t get anything from her as she is mute and unresponsive. Just when Josie is about to lose all hopes of finding Isabelle Coleman, she discovers that the mute girl has written a name on the wall for her to discover.
Josie Quinn starts looking up the name, Ramona, and find out anything related to her. Later, Josie gets her hands on some important evidences that prove a linkage between the 2 girls. The revelation of the shocking connection makes it clear that it is going to a difficult race against time to locate Isabelle Coleman alive. Josie Quinn fears that there may be other victims. The trail of Isabelle leads Josie Quinn to one victim. This girl had escaped from the kidnapper, but her case was sidelined by the authorities by declaring it as a hoax. Josie approaches this girl and learns some gruesome facts about the culprit. She prepares herself to deal with the monster. Josie knows that she has to confront the nightmares of her own if she wishes to close this case once and for all.
Another exciting mystery penned in the series is called ‘Her Mother’s Grave’. The Bookouture released this novel too in 2018. Regan has mentioned the lead characters in this book as Belinda Rose, Josie Quinn, etc. The story begins by showing the discovery of human bones by a couple of boys in a park. The bones were buried beneath one of the trees in the trailer park. When Josie Quinn arrives at the scene for investigation, she realizes that it is the same place where she used to spend her time playing when she was a child. She remembers that those were the happiest times for her as her abusive mother named Belinda Rose was not there to cause problems. Josie Quinn’s past and present cross when she comes to know that the bones belong to Belinda Rose, a teenage foster child murdered around 30 years ago. The last time she saw her mother was many years ago, but this shocking connection between the dead teenager and her mother makes Josie wanting to meet her. She continues with the investigation and uncovers a secret that seems even more shocking to her. Soon, one more body is found and it becomes clear to Josie that there is someone close to her who wants to stop the truth from getting revealed. Josie Quinn fights her past demons in an attempt to prevent a deadly killer from taking another innocent life. Once again, she is forced to deal with her abusive past and come to terms with it so as to get over it completely.
