He has been gunning for promotion, and wants to do anything for his job, however will he be able keep his personal life in check?

The Murder Investigation Team is based out of leafy Putney, with its overgrown often-flooded riverbanks. One way the river leads right into central London, while the other out into the countryside, it is a picturesque setting which masks a criminal underworld.

“The Thames Path Killer” is the first novel in the “Detective Rob Miller” series and was released in the year 2019. One deranged serial killer, and an ambitious young detective. One case which could destroy everything that he holds dear.

When there’s a young woman is found strangled and raped along the Thames River path, it seems like a personal vendetta by an enraged former lover. But then two more women are murdered in the same manner and it becomes obvious that there’s a deranged serial murderer on the loose. All three of these women were engaged to be married. Is this the connection between them?

The case gets assigned to DI Rob Miller, an ambitious and young detective, whose job it is to catch this killer before there are any more women get murdered. Rob throws himself into this investigation to the detriment of his fiance that is attempting to plan their wedding. Once Rob starts to hone in on the killer, his fiance vanishes, and Rob knows that it is just a matter of time before the killer makes things personal.

This novel is a fantastic combination of relationships, hope, teamwork, and intrigue. Biba Pearce delivers a novel that is fast paced, enjoyable, entertaining, and tough to put down. “The West London Murders” is the second novel in the “Detective Rob Miller” series and was released in the year 2020. A series of brutal stabbings. One ambitious young detective. And a killer that is hellbent on getting revenge.

A dad is found dead inside his posh West London home. Stabbed to death. By someone that just couldn’t stop. There are seven, maybe eight puncture wounds. There is no time to relax for the recently married DI Rob Miller.

Now there is a second man found savagely slain in the same exact frenzied manner. Do the cops have a serial killer on their hands? The investigation leads Rob and former lover Detective Jo Maguire to London’s undercover escort industry. It is a risky world to jump into, and Rob’s own feelings for Jo do not help any. They realize this killer is leaving behind a blistering trail of revenge murders. And the violence is escalating. Can Jo and Rob work with each other to stop this killer before somebody else has to pay the ultimate price?

Another edge of your seat, fast paced thriller with turns and twists that is going to keep you reading until the late hours. It’s a very suspenseful novel, and readers found themselves getting hooked more and more with each page.

“The Bisley Wood Murders” is the third novel in the “Detective Rob Miller” series and was released in the year 2021. A girl vanishes. Now a body is found and the public is holding its collective breath. Could this be Katie? Jo and Rob may just have a serial killer on their hands.

This is a riveting, suspenseful, and emotional read with some tremendous world building. The book grabs you from the first page and keeps you hanging onto every word until the end. Detective Miller leads the investigation, however there is not too much to go off of. Right when he believes he has a lead, the case gets turned on its head.

In order to solve this mystery, Rob will have to go off book, possibly putting his career (and already complex love life) on the line.

Every chapter of this novel has a massive turnaround with a slap bang ending that you don’t see coming as the killer is sure to be a total shock to readers. Pearce delivers a well plotted and written read, and she develops her characters so you have a strong grasp of who they are.

Detective Rob Miller is a mystery series authored by Biba Pearce. Throughout the novels, DI Rob Miller investigates serial killers who appear to be killing people with some similarities. The debut novel in the series is The Thames Path Killer.

The Thames Path Killer

The Thames Path Killer is the debut in the DI Rob Miller series. When a young lady is found sexually assaulted and strangled to death along the Thames River Path, people think it’s the bitterness of her ex-lover. The lady’s fiancé says that she had reported to the police about someone stalking her just some weeks before the fateful night.

DI Rob Miller receives a call from DCI Sam Lawrence when he is about to go to Bistro in Richmond to celebrate his engagement with his fiancée. He’s no other choice but to go where the Murder Investigation Team assigns him the case.

Miller is a young, ambitious detective of the South West London Major Investigation Team and has been looking forward to getting ahead of his career, and he’s so pleased when he is put in charge of the case. Having earned a promotion recently, he sees this as his dream come true and will do anything to prove he is worth the position, but he should also keep his personal life on the right track.

He is under much pressure from the DCI to solve the case as fast as possible as the higher authority is pressuring the DCI. Miller works day and night with his team to get more information while chasing similar cases.

Miller and his team have to catch the killer before more women become victims. After a short while, the team starts piecing together some clues which may lead them to track the serial killer. He has to spend more time away from Yvette, his fiancé, which starts straining their relationship even after Rob explains to her how dedicated they become once they start working on a case of this nature. Despite the explanation, Yvette is not happy with how he spends most of his time working.

Everything gets more complicated when two more young ladies are killed in the same way. Surprisingly, the three ladies had in common that they were engaged and almost getting married. Why is the serial killer targeting the brides-to-be?

They also reported having stalkers a few weeks before their deaths. Most people refer to him as the surrey stalker. As the case becomes complex, officers from a different jurisdiction join Miller’s team as they try to bring the killer to justice before it’s too late. With no DNA and evidence to guide them, the team has to do everything to identify and catch the killer.

At first, Rob isn’t happy with the idea of the other team, but later, he finds the new senior investigating officer easy to work with.

On the other side, Yvette is trying to plan their wedding with Miller. As Rob gets close to catching the killer, his fiancée vanishes, and now Rob knows in no time, this matter will become personal.

The plotline is well woven to make a page-turning thriller with a ruthless killer, fraught relationships, evidence, and a personal life with many challenges to go through. The novel is fast-paced, with many actions and twists to keep the reader in suspense. The intrigue of the case keeps the story flowing at a steady pace, and the character development makes the story well layered.

Miller is dedicated to his job, and he gets support from his team, who believe in him and themselves. Yvette is self-centered and didn’t understand Miller’s passion for his work, especially now that he had recently gotten promoted.

The Thames Path Killer is an excellently woven police murder mystery story with realistic and well-developed characters. The story pulls the reader from the beginning keeping them engaged to the last page.

The West London Murders

The West London Murders is the second installment in the Detective Rob Miller series. When Miller is called to the stubbing of the drug dealer, he feels that’s not a good time since he has just been newlywed. The thriving businessman is found dead in his posh home, and DCI Rob Miller is assigned the case. It doesn’t take long before other similar killings follow, and more clues surface.

He ignores his newlywed status and attends to his job. When another similar murder happens, the investigation teams look to see whether there is any drug business connection, but they can’t find it.

Soon the third murder happens, and now they can’t help but wonder what could be the link between the three. It’s not until the team can find the right questions to interrogate that they can find themselves on the right track and making steps ahead, but with no single clue, how will they know what to ask?
The lack of helpful information brings uncertainty and unease to the team. The profiles of the three men don’t add up to anything, and the investigation team can’t find out how they are kinked. They then start to dig into the sex industry, looking into the victims so that they can try to catch the killer.

Miller’s ex-lover currently works in the National Crime Agency, but she might not help him so much due to her new and upset wife. Sometimes he thinks he made a rational decision in marrying her. After demanding attention after the surrey stalker attack, Yvette moved to live with her sister.

After becoming a DI, she became more clinging and couldn’t believe that he had no chance to stop what he was doing and run home every time she felt lonely and scared. Can the teamwork fast to prevent any more victims?

The killer seems to be taking down the violent men, and even though clues are everywhere, none of them connect. Now DI Miller has to investigate a violent stabbing surrounded by mystery and links to other crimes. The twists keep the reader on their toes trying to figure out who the real suspect is and just when you think the case is solved, things begin to escalate.
