Speculator is the exciting first fictional novel in the High Ground series by Douglas R. Casey and John F. Hunt. Those that have been looking for a modern action and adventure story have come to the right place!

The main character of this story is a man named Charles Knight. At the moment, he is twenty-three years old, but he has no idea that the regular details of his life are about to be traded in for something larger. He too may transform from a regular, every day average Joe to some type of hero along the way.

When new people turn up in Africa all of a sudden, it’s usually because a huge resource has been discovered and is about to be made available either to the public or the private sector for pure profit. In this case it’s gold, and the place is West Africa. The largest unearthing of gold in history so far takes Charles all the way to West Africa for a journey that he is likely not quite all the way prepared to take on.

Once Charles Knight arrives, he quickly finds himself in the midst of everything from violence to deception, danger, and romance. He meets a man named Xander Winn who is Dutch and in West Africa as part of his own independent mission. Xander becomes a type of mentor to Charles as he makes his way around, through the land of speculation as well as trying to navigate the complicated politics of Africa.

However, his trip may have more than he bargained for coming his way. Charles will have to contend with everything from a rebel leader with a psychopathic streak, mercenaries that want to retire early, people leading a fraud that numbers in the billions of dollars, and contending with the American government.

It’s beginning to seem to Charles that just about everyone wants to get in his way. No one wants him to succeed, and some may even want him dead. That isn’t going to deter this determined speculator, who will stop at nothing to strike gold or money, whichever comes first. Will Charles get lucky or will his hard work pay off? Will he find his gold and leave West Africa a wealthy man? Or will he be leaving this place in a plane, just not alive?

Pick up the action packed first novel in the High Ground series to find out what happens!

Drug Lord is the exciting second novel in the High Ground series of fictional novels written by Douglas R. Casey and John Hunt. If you liked the first story or are always curious about an adventure book, check out the second installment of this series!

The main character from the first novel, Charles Knight, returns in yet another adventurous story from John Hunt and Doug Casey! Follow alone with all of the fun as Charles comes back to America after having spent a long seven years abroad going all over the world.

He decides that he wants to set out on two different professions and follow through with them. One of them will be serving as an investor putting a large sum of money up to go into a small pharmaceutical company. The other profession he intends to be the head of an operation that oversees drug smuggling and distribution.

Knight intends to bring justice and sort things out into the black and white so that he can bust those doing illegal activities and put them behind bars where they belong. He’s doing all that he can to try and take the smugglers down and work on not only those working in the black market but in the pharmaceutical game as well.

That’s where Tristana Dubocher enters in. She’s the woman running Visioryme Pharmaceuticals as the CEO of Knight’s company. She’s married to a man that works for the FDA. Then there’s also the DEA’s agent Seth Fowler, who will stop at nothing to climb into a position where he has power.

There are also characters included in this story that the reader will get to meet. There is also a young girl in her teens named Rainbow that has found herself on the street. Her life is difficult but it’s made even more complicated by the fact that she gets by running drugs. Working for the Alphabet Men, many of the people that make their money from drugs are about to find that things are about to get a little disrupted.

Charles is doing all that he can to try and bring justice to the streets and do his part for the war on drugs. He’s doing whatever he can to take people down, but is he prepared for the Naked Emperor?

The Naked Emperor is the name for a drug that is hitting the streets. Unlike so many other drugs, it does not make the user sleepy or altered. It does not make them tired or make their minds clouded. This type of drug provides a clearing of the brain, the type of drug that gets in the way of individuals being able to deceive themselves by lying.

Those that are in the business of lying not only to others but themselves are in big trouble. Could the world be forever changed by the entry of this drug onto the world stage? A lot of people in a lot of positions stand to have a lot to lose. Can Charles Knight help change the world and make sure that things transform for good? Or will they get him before he can start? Read this book to find out!
