The Dr. Jessica Coran series features FBI medical examiner Dr. Jessica Coran. Jessica makes her debut in the first of many books. She is a smart young woman who is the perfect student not only of the mind but how to understand how criminals think in order to track them down and catch them through the Bureau. There are fourteen books in total in the series.

Killer Instinct is the first book in Robert W. Walker’s Dr. Jessica Coran series. Jessica works as a medical examiner for the F.B.I. and it’s safe to say that she knows her stuff. The brilliant doctor was also a great student and learned everything about the criminal mind. Having learned a lot on the subject and also working a lot on the job and putting a lot of hours in, Coran thought she could come up and face anything and handle it. But she’s starting to learn that she’s wrong.

Even though Jessica works for the government, that doesn’t mean that she’s immune to certain horrors. A real-life nightmare starts up when she sees one of the victims of what they’re calling the Vampire Killer up close and personal in Wisconsin. Most people think of cheese when they think of Wisconsin. That’s not what the Doctor will be thinking of when she thinks of Wisconsin for a long time.

The press catches wind of the killer and the killing and torture itself are so unique that the F.B.I. agent gives it its own designations of Tort 9. This is where the victims are drained of their blood. But it turns out that the one person he wants to pay attention to him may be closer than anyone thought. All of his love letters are signed ‘teach’ and they are being sent to one person– someone he’s obsessed with.

Someone he’s supposed to be caught by. But is the Vampire Killer tracking the Doctor all of this time? Is she the only one that he wants and is he doing this just to get her involved — and get her attention? Pick up Killer Instinct, the first in the Dr. Jessica Coran series, and see whether the mystery can ever really be solved or if the doctor is the intended final victim of a seriously dangerous and calculated killer.

Fatal Instinct is the second book in the Dr. Jessica Coran series. This author of Killer Instinct follows the impressive debut in the series with another psychological thriller that will have you breathless! Doctor Jessica Coran returns for another adventure and a terrifying case is inevitable, given her job title. She’s also apparently more than fit for the job seeing as her capture of a wanted killer has landed her all over the media and instant respect and recognition from a number of people in the field.

Doctor Coran’s success does seem to be a bit of a double-edged sword, however. While her success in capturing killers has made her seem almost more than human, she is also getting messages and requests for her to help them. They’re pouring in from all around the country at an unprecedented rate and even if she could help them all, she wouldn’t be able to. There’s not nearly enough time to tackle all of the cases, many of which have been cold for months.

But one case happens to stand out to the doctor. It’s as intriguing as it is terrifying. This new case is going to take her all the way to New York City, the big apple itself. But the doctor is not there for a day trip; she’s there to investigate a case that if true could mean that she is tracking the equivalent of a modern-day version of Jack the Ripper. While exciting in the abstract, the reality of trying to actually find someone like this would be enough to send chills down anyone’s spine.

Jessica is there to help the medical examiner find clues which will hopefully lead to them having some leads about this cannibal serial killer. New York City is under full threat from this crazy killer, the likes of which has not been seen since Jack the Ripper terrorized the streets of London. Find out what happens in Fatal Instinct, the thrilling sequel in the Dr. Jessica Coran series by Robert W. Walker!
