The Draycott Abbey book series is a wonderful series of paranormal romance, fantasy, contemporary romance, time travel, romance, and science fiction novels. It consists of a total of 11 novels and 6 novellas published between 1991 and 2012. This series is written by a New York Times bestselling American novelist named Christian Skye. Each of the books of this series is set in a fictional remote location of England known as Draycott Abbey. This place is described as being filled with astonishing secrets and mysteries. There is presence of unscrupulous, evil men and the star cross romance mysteries from the past many centuries. In every book of the series, Christina Skye has mentioned different sets of primary characters. The characters are typically shown as coming across each other in Draycott Abbey and indulging in passionate romances. They carry the stories forward by getting involved in unravelling the various mysteries that they discover in their path. Christina Skye is the pseudonym used by NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Roberta Helmer, who used to write science fiction, romance and fantasy books. She has written several mind blowing novel series in her career, including Summer Island, SEAL and Code Name, Draycott Abbey, Dangerous Heroes, The Dangerous Delameres, etc. Christina was born in Dayton, Ohio, United States; and died on May 21, 2018 after fighting a long battle with breast cancer. Under her real name, Christina has penned books on the Chinese culture and art. Her career comprised of 23 books altogether. Christina Skye’s romance novels have been translated into more than 8 languages and sold all over the world. In addition to being a prolific author, Christina was also popular for being a descendent of Adam Helmer, a hero of the Revolutionary War. She has completed her graduation from the Pennsylvania University. Later, Christina studied at the Ohio State University and earned a doctorate in Chinese literature. During her years at the university, she had learned to speak French, Japanese, and Chinese fluently. Christina used to work as a translator and a consultant at the National History Museum and National Geographic Society.

Prior to her death, she lived near Arizona’s McDowell Mountains. It was in 1990 that Christina sold her first manuscript. Over the course of her literary career, she was involved with 6 different publishers. Other than writing novels, she liked to collect vintage textiles, cook, travel, carry out researches about things and places of historical importance. Christina was deeply in love with the art of knitting. She believed that the forces of texture and color running through fingers helped her to concentrate on her stories and developed excellent masterpiece every time.

A popular book of the Draycott Abbey series written by author Christina Skye is entitled ‘Key To Forever’. It was first released in 1997 and then again in 2004 by Avon. The book features the lead characters as Joanna Russell and Alexei Cameron, and revolves around a sword called Cameron. This sword has a historical importance. It was raised the last time for defending a doomed queen from Scotland. Now, the sword is hidden somewhere and is guarded by a curse. It is believed that only the bravest will be able to seek the sword and its treasure. Alexei Cameron is shown as a gypsy and wild earl. Once, he had shared a night of extraordinary passion with a gorgeous lady, who had vanished in the morning. This woman comes back into Alexie’s life as Joanna Russell with a mission at hand. Joanna is a tour guide in Draycott Abbey and has an expertise in ancient weaponry. When approached by Alexei Cameron to know why she abandoned him, she tells him that she had her own reasons. She also informs Alexie that she has a more important thing to worry at the moment. Joanna is all set to solve the lost sword’s puzzle and confront the dark secrets and a deadly enemy. Joanna and Alexei set aside their differences and work as a team to get to the treasure. They go on to realize that their passionate romance is a key to the ancient mystery, thereby accepting accepting each other.

Another exciting book of this series is called ‘Season of Wishes’. The Avon Books published it in 1997. Christina Skye has done the setting of this novel’s plot in the Scottish Highlands and has mentioned the central characters as Jamee Night and Ian McCall. Jamee is introduced as a beautiful heiress from America. She senses that someone is keeping a watch on her activities and becomes fearful. Jamee was abducted when she was a small girl and so, she knows about that fear very well. But now, she has changed herself into a more confident girl. She visits Scotland with the hope of returning to her ancestors’ land. She doesn’t wish to have someone as her protector. Jamee comes across Ian McCall, a Glenlyle laird, but has no idea that he is an expert in kidnapping and has been hired to keep her safe. Jamee feels a strong sense of attraction towards Ian that awakens the deepest desires in her. Ian McCall makes Jamee wonder about an ancestor, who had a similar personality and had made 3 wishes for his future generations. Draycott Abbey is filled with irrepressible spirits that can make miracles happen. And with Ian McCall’s trust and Jamee Night’s courage, her ancestor’s wishes are about to come true with one such miracle, and the two are all set to experience it first hand.
