If you love a dark FBI profiler thriller, you might really enjoy this book where a veteran behavioral analyst comes up against a serial killer who takes out families– and seems to have an intimate knowledge of the agent he is up against. He knows every weakness, every case. He has a formal awareness of who she is. The result will be a battle for her mind.
Agent Meredeth Connelly is a profiler working with the FBI. She has spent the last twenty years of her life hunting down serial killers, but this doesn’t mean that she’s totally prepared for anything and everything that comes her way. This case involves the ‘.40 Caliber Killer’, and it’s completely different from any other case she has ever had.
This killer is unusual and in a class all his own. He doesn’t kill individuals, he kills entire families. He leaves behind evidence apparently on purpose, and it comes off like his own private message to the world. Meredeth keeps on working the case but with every crime scene she comes across, she slowly starts to realize that the killer knows her very well.
This knowledge rocks her to the core and makes the game she is playing all the more dangerous. She’s being greatly affected by the case but can’t tell the Bureau that without putting her job security on the line. But it’s tough to deny the toll that all of this is taking. She’s having strange dreams, hallucinations, headaches that go on for hours. She feels that she’s making progress with finding the killer, but it’s also just as possible that her exhaustion is making her see things where nothing is actually there.
Meredeth can’t let the killer get into her head, but looking around, it appears that he’s already there. She’s in a race against the clock to get control of her mind and body again. But regardless of what she does, the body count continues to go up. Stopping this person might mean going to memories and trusting them while also realizing that they may not be real.
If you love crime, mystery, and engaging thrillers, this is a great book for you. Can Meredeth get to the bottom of what is going on and catch a killer before it’s too late? Read Mercy Forsaken by E.H. Vick to find out!
Her Last Sunset is the second book in the Meredith Connelly Mind Hunt Thrillers series by E.H. Vick. If you thought that the first book in this series was good, then you’ll want to jump on board and find out everything that happens in this thrilling sequel.
FBI profiler Meredeth Connelly has yet another case to handle, this time hunting down a killer who likes to take his victims sailing before he kills them. Told including the point of view of the murderer, this one dark procedural suspense thriller that doesn’t stop once it gets started.
Special Agent Meredeth is on the case. She’s got a good handle on the target this time, tracking him as he makes his way through St. Petersburg, Florida. She’s trying to find out who he is as well as the motive for all of his murders. The only problem is that how can you find out these answers when the killer himself has no idea?
All Connelly knows is that it’s her job to track this guy down and find him so that she can stop him. The only thing that he knows is that he loves women– but only if they’re dead. The two are very similar but in different ways. She hunts killers down because of her past. He kills his victims in order to forget.
He’s called the Pass-A-Grille Killer and he’s putting bodies into the Gulf of Mexico. Now she has to fish them out. The state of Florida has a huge problem and it’s up to this agent to solve it for them. The reason why so many of the victims end up in this situation starts to become apparent the more she looks into things.
The killer is charming, rich, handsome, has a car and boat. His victims accept the offer of an evening cruise and it is often the last one they ever take.
