Eithne Shortall is an American published author and a journalist.

Her first novel to come out was titled Love in Row 47 and it was released for readers to first enjoy in June of 2017. The book has been sold in 11 territories and 9 languages and was optioned by NBC Universal to become a television series. Her second novel was titled Grace After Henry and it was released in the UK/Ireland in 2018 and the U.S. in 2019 and part of a six-figure U.S. publishing deal.

Eithne serves as the chief arts writer for the Irish edition of the Sunday Times newspaper. She is also a regular contributor to RTE Radio and has been for years. She has also worked as a presenter with RTE and BBC Northern Ireland. Eithne also fronted a music series for TG4 called Ceol ar an Imeall.

She was born in Dublin, Ireland, where she grew up. Eithne attended Dublin City University, where she studied journalism. She also spend a few months living in West Virginia. In her early twenties she lived in Paris for a year and thought about writing. She would go to London to write her first novel which she also set there, and would make her second novel a love letter to Dublin, where it is set and where she now resides.

Shortall loves to cycle, read, eat sweets, and listen to the radio.
