Elisabeth Wheatley
Elisabeth Wheatley loves tea and asking questions. She is a high fantasy and epic romance author since being a warrior princess was not an option.
She believes in happily ever after (eventually), sorcery, swords, dangerous women, and the men that love them.
She is a lifelong Texan that grew up on a steady diet of “Xena: Warrior Princess”, “Conan the Barbarian”, and “Gladiator”. They lived on this ranch located on “the corner of No and Where”, just an hour away from the closest grocery store.
As a kid, she was forced by her cousins to watch “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”. It lead her down the slippery slope of reading the books, writing fanfiction, and beginning what would become her “Argetallam Saga”.
She published her first book, called “The Key of Amatahns”, when she was 15.
“The Key of Amatahns” is the first novel in the “Argetallam Saga” series and was released in 2011. In a land where those that have magic are revered and esteemed, Janir is guarding a secret which would send her right to the headsman’s block at just a single word. Being one of the reviled Argetallams, she’s got the power to steal others’ magic and destroy enchantments, this ability which has caused bloodshed for generations.
She was raised as the illegitimate daughter of one influential lord, and was determined to turn her back on her own heritage, however once her power manifest, leaving one nobleman dead, she’s got no choice but to flee from her adoptive home. While in exile with help from a fearless young enchanter and this elf that’s been sworn to protect her, she finds she’s entangled in this quest to hide this ancient artifact from the enemies of the kingdom.
However they’re not the only ones chasing this relic, and before long their paths cross with a rival out of Janir’s distant childhood. Without any hope of getting help or rescue, the fate of nations is going to depend on one 15 year old girl and mastery of powers that she does not even understand.
“Fanged” is the first novel in the “Fanged” series and was released in 2013. Family dating rules were quite clear: no humans. But the undead heart wants what it wants and Haddie’s high school boyfriend wound up dead because of it. Now Damian, her brother, is repeating history and the same fate’s lined up for Madelyn, a very non-vampire.
With this girl’s throat being on the line, they do not have too many options. Before long all three of them are on the run. Hunted across the country by dear old dad’s enforcers, they will need help from some of the humans that hate them the most. Assuming they all live that long.
“Ensaadi” is the first novel in the “Warlords of the Sandsea” series and was released in 2018. Ensaadi Talitha of Ilios is the warlord’s heir that dreams about peace. She finally has the opportunity to broker a marriage between two of the feuding tribes, however her efforts become shattered once her besotted cousin claims the bridegroom. This treachery forces Talitha and all her warriors to flee back to Ilios.
Just through one uneasy alliance with this band of mercenary Dunedrifters and their enigmatic leader can her people hope to make it a home. With the lives of her warriors and her city’s safety being at stake, Talitha is going to be forced to make some of the toughest choices of her life.
As an ensaadi, no matter what Talitha might want, a conscience is a curse and a heart is a luxury.
“Daindreth’s Assassin” is the first novel in the “Daindreth’s Assassin” series and was released in 2021. Cursed to be an assassin, while being born to be a sorceress. Chosen to be his empress.
Magic has got two immutable rules: every curse can be broken and every spell requires a sacrifice.
Amira Brindonu is a sorceress turned hitman, bound in this curse which forces her to obey her dad, even to the point of high treason. When he orders her to murder the future emperor, she fails, however learns a secret which could bring the entire empire to its very knees.
The archduke gets stricken by this curse which could sentence him and all his people to damnation, however Amira might be the only key to breaking it. In one desperate last-ditch effort, this archduke takes Amira prisoner and he makes a pact to keep her safe from her curse if she’ll help free him of his.
While time starts running out, Amira quickly learns that there’re enemies which blades cannot touch and there are some fates worse than death. Caught in a web of intrigue, sorcery, and her growing feelings for the archduke, this hitman has to figure out just how much she’s willing to give up in order to save the only man that she has ever loved.
Every curse can be broken, however can two cursed people save each other?
“Daindreth’s Outlaw” is the second novel in the “Daindreth’s Assassin” series and was released in 2022. She broke her curse, however can they now break his?
Amira Brindou has done the impossible, she broke her own curse and rescued the imperial archduke from Empress Vesha’s witchcraft. Saving the man that she loves should’ve been a good thing, however in doing so, Amira’s upset that delicate pact between the Erymayan Empire and the cythraul demons of the Dread Marches, with far reaching consequences that she and Daindreth can just start to comprehend.
Now Daindreth and Amira are outlaws that are on the run. Their list of allies is getting slim and their chances of outrunning Vesha’s agents get even slimmer. They’ll soon have little choice but to get help from those that first cursed Daindreth’s dad, the banished Istovari sorceresses.
Amira’s willing to do anything to free him from his curse, even bargaining with the women that once offered her up as a human sacrifice. However it’ll soon become clear that she’ll not be the only one to face this cost.
Every curse can be broken, however the price of breaking this one might be too high. Countless innocent lives across the empire are at stake, forcing them to decide exactly what (and who) they’re willing to risk for a shot at freedom.
