Elizabeth Adler is one of the popular English authors who likes to write her novels based on the historical fiction and romance genres. She is particularly famous for writing down the successful Mac Reilly series. She was born in Yorkshire, England, and met her American husband named Richard when she was working in London. Adler has lived with her husband in England, France, United States, Ireland, and Brazil. She is blessed with a daughter and currently lives in Palm Springs in California. Author began her writing career in the year 1985 when she wrote and published her first novel titled ‘Private Desires’. She says that she is extremely romantic, self-confessed, foodie, and a travel addict kind of person, all of which she tries to depict in her novels for her readers. Along with these, Adler also adds a tough thrust of an unfolding mystery and suspense that keeps the readers on their toes and intrigued till the end of her books. Whenever she is not busy with any written work, author Adler likes to discover different places and travel to many locations along with her husband. She believes that she will keep on discovering a number of places throughout her writing career in order to bring them to her readers.

Also, she has been able to depict the strong and interesting characters like Mac Reilly, Sunny Alvarez, and Malibu PI because of the love and support from her husband. In fact, she has done the characterizations of all these interesting characters based on the personality of her husband, due to which the love bond between has grown even stronger throughout the years of her writing career. Living in California, author Adler possesses the ability to take her readers to all those exciting and romantic places like Venice, St. Tropez, Capri, Monte Carlo, Malibu, and Tuscany. She does the description of all these places in such a beautiful manner in her novels that the readers feel like they are present over there while reading her novels. They feel like they are sitting there along with her and hearing the stories of her books from her own mouth, while sitting on an Italian terrace, drinking the coffee, savoring the sunshine and heat, smelling the delicious food, and at the same time getting acquainted with the mystery of the plot. One thing that author Adler wishes should have been in her is her height as she measures only 5 feet and 3 inches. She also wishes to be able to follow her diet strictly as she weighs much more than a normal person of her age.

Author Adler does not like wearing her glasses and hopes that she should have been blind like a bat. The name of her daughter is Annabelle, who is married to a rock musician named Eric Avery. The family of author Elizabeth Adler consists of a couple of kitties named Sweet Pea and Siamese as well as a black cat named Sunny. The kitties seem to have the authority of ruling her household. Adler seems to be quite fond of her clothes and gives a description of the clothes that the women in her novels wear, along with the scented candles, perfumes, their pillows sofas, beds, rugs, etc. She believes that telling about all these things helps the readers to understand the characters better. Apart from writing under her original name, author Adler also used the pen name Ariana Scott for writing a few of her novels. Most of her novels from a total of 22 have become international bestsellers and acclaimed by many.

One of the successful novel series written by author Elizabeth Adler is the ‘de Courmont’ series, which consists of a total of 2 books published between the years 1985 and 1986. The first novel of the series is titled as ‘Leonie’. It was originally titled as ‘Private Desires’ and was released by the Dell publishing house in the year 1985. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the life of the primary character named Leonie as she travels to a number of romantic places all over the world. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Leonie is described by the author as having an exotic beauty, pride, seductive innocence, and a fiery spirit. She is shown to have come from the provinces in order to try her luck in Paris. Leonie began singing in music halls, even though she felt shameful to do so and gradually rose to an international fame by singing the songs about love and longing that came straight from her heart. Eventually, Leonie traveled from Paris to the Cote d’Azur, Brazil, New York, Cuba, Cairo, as well as a whole lot of other interesting places. She kept moving in the dazzling world of power, money and passion. However, her world was mostly darkened by the relentless hunger of a man who was determined to possess her. He would never let her go and only wanted to play with her. Love was far away from Leonie’s life.

The second novel of the de Courmont series written by author Elizabeth Adler was published under the title ‘Peach’. It was released by the Dell publishing house in the year 1986. The plot of this revolved around the happenings in the lives of the main characters named Peach de Courmont and Noel Maddox. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Peach de Courmont is described as a teenage temptress, a wild child, and an exquisite woman. She was the adored granddaughter of the main character from the first novel of the series, Leonie. Peach de Courmont was the only heiress of the de Courmont dynasty and grew up living a luxurious life. She used to live her life and love on her own strict terms. On the other hand, Noel Maddox is described as an orphan raised in one of the orphanages in Iowa. He is believed to have been raised and used to the mean streets present in Detroit. Noel Maddox fought a hard battle with his life and rose from the assembly line up to the pinnacle of power in a very less time. He had the dream of owning Peach and the automobile empire that she commanded. In fact, he was determined to pay any price in order to possess them. The plot of this novel moves from the wartime of Paris to Cote d’Azur, and from the small rooms of Detroit up to the palatial houses of Grosse Pointe as well as to the English countryside. The indomitable wills of Peach and Noel collide in the saga of consuming raw power and passion against the backdrop of the reckless and rich world.
