Elizabeth Bromke is a reputed American writer of contemporary, romance, suspense, and inspirational novels. She is particularly well known for writing the Maplewood series, the Birch Harbor series, and the Hickory Grove series. Additionally, she has penned a couple of standalone books, namely The Summer Society and The Innkeeper’s House. Most of the books written by Bromke feature women’s fiction stories set in small towns. Her stories depict modern women in lead roles, who treat yesteryear traditions as highly valuable. They revolve around central characters indulging in a sweet romance. Her stories most depict family dynamics and the trials and triumphs of modern relationships.
Across each of her novel series, heartwarming romance, strong female friendships, and nostalgia are included as the main elements of an exciting setting in charming towns featuring quirky locals as the secondary and supporting casts. Bromke’s characters always look to find happiness in life through romance and family support. With the worldwide success of her debut book, Christmas in Maplewood, author Bromke succeeded in establishing herself in the ranks of the emerging voices of clean and contemporary romance. As of today, she resides in the Arizona mountains in the neighborhood of her parents. She is happily married and lives with her loving husband, their young son, and a cute puppy named Winnie. While growing up, Bromke lived mostly in the desert. She always hoped for spending the later years of her life in a place filled with beautiful scenery and soothing climate.
After relocating to Arizona, Bromke developed a daily routine of reading the works of a variety of authors for inspiration before moving on to write on her own novels. Some of her favorite authors include Mitch Albom, Beverly Cleary, Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Diane Chamberlain, Liane Moriarty, and Nicholas Sparks. When author Bromke is not busy with her reading and writing interests, she likes to take up teaching composition and literature. Sometimes, she also likes to work on puzzles with the members of her family or going on long walks with her pets. Bromke also loves watching different kinds of movies and baking. She claims to have been writing since she was a child but decided to get her work published only as recent as 2018.
For Bromke, editing seems to be the most challenging part of her writing process. It becomes too stressful for her whenever she has to meet a deadline. Bromke considers female readers as her target audience as all her stories depict different aspects of their lives. As of now, Bromke is working on a new book in the Maplewood and is expected to release it soon. She is also looking forward to new titles to her other 2 book series. Bromke also wishes to try her hand at writing a prequel, but that is not a part of her current plan. Many noteworthy critics have given excellent reviews to Bromke’s novels and have rated them very well. Author Bromke extends her gratitude to all such critics as well as her fellow writers for inspiring and motivating her with their kind words. She looks forward to writing numerous other exciting stories in the coming years and achieving more heights of success in her career.
In the Maplewood series, Bromke has described the lives of 4 sisters living in a small town. The essential characters created by her in the books of this series include Mary Delaney, Anna Delaney, Kurt Cutler, Dutch McCree, Ben Stevens, Erica Stevens, Bo Delaney, Keegan, and a few others. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Christmas in Maplewood’. It was self-published by the author in 2018. Initially, it is depicted that Mary Delaney is about to turn thirty. With the passage of each year, her belief in old-fashioned ways becomes firmer and she continues to root for the traditional ideas of courtship even more. Mary is highly determined to find her better half and begin her family soon. But, the problem is that she has to find such a man, who is ready to wait for her.
One such man is Kurt Cutler, who is divorced and has become fed up with his big city life. Kurt is the owner of a billion-dollar start-up and has a lot of money to buy all the freedom that he wants in life. But, he thinks that money is not enough to live a happy life. He has a firm belief in having a perfect life partner who can share sorrows and bring joy. The troubled past of Kurt Cutler keeps him from having a partner like Mary. He thinks that it is high time now and he should move ahead in life and do whatever it takes to give him a happy life. In only their first encounter, both Kurt and Mary begin to feel that they can achieve a happily-ever-after together. Each wants to have the other in their life and wonders if they can overcome their past and cherish the love that they deserve.
Another mind-blowing installment of the Maplewood series is known as ‘Return to Maplewood’. It was also self-published by Bromke in 2019. The central characters depicted in this book include Dutch McCree and Anna Delaney. The novel opens by mentioning that Anna Delaney has enjoyed her adult life by visiting nightclubs and kissing strangers. She has fortified her high-tech, edgy career. The only Band-Aids for the gorgeous, confident redhead’s deep wound have been business meetings and benders. But, as soon as her sister falls in love with her divorced boss, each of her bandages start to unravel one by one. Dutch McCree is introduced as a man born and brought up in a mining town in Arizona. He managed to become a successful contractor through hard work and his low-heel upbringing.
Following the death of his wife, Dutch formed a hard layer around his heart and left space in it only for his young daughter. In relation to a new project, he travels to Maplewood, where he comes across his client Kurt Cutler and his newly promoted Co-President Anna Delaney. This new business opportunity offers Dutch a chance of his business’ expansion. But, he seems attracted to life in the mountain town and the beautiful Anna. Dutch wants to start a new life with Anna and knows that he has to come to terms with his difficult past first. Anna also feels the same once she realizes that she has developed a soft spot for him in her heart.
