Elizabeth Harbison is one of the New York Times bestselling author from America, who is famous for writing contemporary, romance, chick lit, and women’s fiction novels. She is particularly famous for writing cookbooks and romance novels. Harbison also uses the pen name of Beth Harbison for writing some of her women’s fiction books. Author Harbison was born and brought up in Potomac, Maryland. She studied at the Birkbeck College and London University, and then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree from the Maryland University. The 2007 novel written by author Harbison, Shoe Addicts Anonymous, was the first book of her career that went on to feature in the bestseller list of the New York Times. The book is currently in the talks to be adapted into a Hollywood movie by the Galgos Entertainment production house. Paul Weiland has been selected as the director while actor Halle Berry is starring in the lead role. For most part of her career, author Harbison has remained in and around Washington, D.C. Harbison is not very fond of her hometown as she often goes through the irritation of being caught up in traffic jams. This has caused her to remain fairly disinterested in the political definition of her home town. The latest novel written by Harbison is Problem Without You, which was released in 2016.

Author Harbison was not at all interested in studies when she was a small kid. This was reflected in her academic results. After this unsuccessful stint, Harbison’s parents decided to enroll her in a private school that was specifically for the rotten kids like her. Author Harbison intends to continue her successful streak as a writer, even in the years to come. As of today, she is happily married. Harbison has a particular interest in pet dogs. Currently, she resides in Maryland along with her family members and her loving dogs. The Shoe Addict series written by Elizabeth Harbison consists of a total of 3 books, which were released between the years 2007 and 2016. The debut novel of this series is entitled ‘Shoe Addict Anonymous’. It was released in 2007 by the St Martin Press. Author Harbison has set the plot of this story in Washington, D.C., The United States. The main characters described by her in this book include Lorna Rafferty, Jocelyn Bowen, Helene Zaharis, Sandra Vanderslice, and Senator Jim Zaharis. At the start of the book, Harbison has depicted that Jim Zaharis is a well known politician and the husband of Helene Zaharis. He always keeps Helene in his control and hardly allows her any freedom in life. As a means of controlling her, Jim terminates the credit card transactions as well. On the other hand, Lorna Rafferty is shown as being in a lot of debt. In spite of this, she is unable to give up shopping on Ebay as she is highly addicted to it. Sandra Vanderslice battles through agoraphobia. In order to pay off the shoe bills, Sandra takes up the decision of working as an operator of phone sex. The last but not the least, Jocelyn Bowen, works as a nanny for a terrible family. She becomes so much fed up with her job that she thinks of leaving the house at any cost. On every Tuesday night, all the 4 women meet for trading shoes with each other. This way, they end up becoming best friends with each other. The women think of using their mean as a way of overcoming their personal problems. They think of seeking triumph over blackmailing, dating problems, bankruptcy, and secret pasts. The book goes on to depict a funny, powerful, and emotional story centered around the lives of women. Its interesting storyline and excellent writing style by author Harbison make the book a must read for all those women who have struggled at one point or the other in their lives to find the right path. The story of this novel also takes place in America and features the central characters as Tiffany Vanderslice, Abbey Walsh, and Loreen Murphy. In the starting sequence of the book, all the three women are shown keeping secrets about their past lives. Abbey Walsh always wished that no one should ever be able to discover the truth about her shady secret. It seems more important to her now as she has now become the wife of a respectable minister. She lives an exemplary and luxurious without any problems. However, everything appears to come to an end for her when someone from her past life shows up suddenly and starts blackmailing her. Tiffany Vanderslice had never thought that she would discover herself in a huge credit card debt while shopping for her designer sunglasses. She thinks that she had only a single mad moment from a shopping spree and things should not end up like this for her. Tiffany has always served as a faithful wife and a caring mother; and thinks that life has not been fair to her in spite of being faithful in all respects. As far as Loreen is concerned, she had never thought of hiring a male prostitute while enjoying on a holiday in Las Vegas. It turns out that it was just a big and stupid misunderstanding, for which she ended up paying a huge sum. But, no one is ready to listen to her truth. After becoming indebted deeply, the three women require a lot of money to pay off their debts. Sandra, the sister of Tiffany, comes to their rescue and gives them a mind blowing idea. So, the women decide to go for the perfect plan as a desperate last attempt at getting rid of their life’s huge problems.
