Elizabeth Lowell is the pen name of the New York Times bestselling author from Wisconsin, America, Ann Maxwell. She was born on April 05, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States and had the hobby of reading science fiction and romance novels right from her childhood days.
As a well established author, Maxwell has gone on to write more than 50 novels in her writing career, both individually and in collaboration with her husband Evan. Apart from Elizabeth Lowell, she is also known by the pseudonyms A. E. Maxwell and Lowell Charters, through which she has contributed several successful novels and nonfiction books.
The novels written by her range from a variety of genres including historical fiction, science fiction, mystery, romance and suspense. Her husband Evan has particularly contributed in the novels based on the crime genres, both local and international. As a child, author Ann Maxwell used to love reading classic literature and it was not before her college days that she got the chance of reading science fiction novels. Other genres also followed later. She enrolled herself in the University of California and obtained her B. A degree in English literature in the year 1966.
After a few days later, Maxwell got married to Evan and is still married to him for more than 40 years. Evan used to work as a newspaper reporter at that time and later went on to work for the LA Times for more than 15 years.
During the initial days of her marriage, Maxwell used to get bored as she used to stay at home all the time along with her toddler son while he husband used to work from the evening up to the midnight. She decided to use her plentiful of free time for reading science fiction books in a public library as she did not like to watch television.
Soon, she became exhausted from that too, and began writing stories on her ancient typewriter. She used to write anything that would come to her mind as she did not have any training in creative writing. Maxwell had to face a lot of rejections when she tried to submit her first book to the publishers. However, after waiting for a considerable amount of time and trying as hard as possible, she was able to publish her first book and since then, she has never stopped writing novels. As of today, there is a total of 23 million copies of her printed novels available in the market, which have been translated in over 21 languages. Apart from collaborating with her husband, Maxwell has also teamed up with a number of her fellow authors throughout her career.
Due to her determined efforts in writing the intriguing novels, she has received a number of prestigious awards and nominations in her writing career. Some of them include the RITA Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Career Achievement Award. Apart from writing novels, author Ann Maxwell likes to spend her time in cooking, fishing, hiking, gardening and spending some quality time on her family boat. She lives happily along with her husband, a grown up son and a daughter in the Pacific Northwest. Her daughter has also published several novels under the pseudonym Heather Lowell.

Soon, one of the legendary cultural treasures of China gets stolen and a beautiful and mysterious jade expert named Lianne Blakely is accused of carrying out the theft. Kyle Donovan considers it to be his personal job to find out the truth and stop a potential disaster from coming to the Donovans and Lianne Blakely. However, he seems to get drawn towards the irresistible and exotic beauty of Lianne and gets captivated by the innocence of her face.
