About Ella Mills (Woodward)

Early and Personal Life

Born in 1991 on the 31st of May, Eleanor Laura Davan Mills (née Woodward) was born and raised in Rugby, Warwickshire. Her father is Shaun Woodward, a politician for the Labour Party, and her mother is Camilla, who is daughter of Camilla, whose father is the politician Tim Sainsbury. With her great-grandfather being Lord Sainsbury, she’s related to the Sainsbury family who own the supermarket, giving her a wealth of catering experience to draw from.

Attending Rugby School, she would later graduate from the University of St Andrews in 2013 with degree based in history of art. Marrying Matthew Mills in April 2016, who is the son of politician Tessa Jowell, the two of them would both become business partners together. Living together they have two daughters, Skye and May, as Ellie continues to work to regularly, with more to follow still.

Writing Career

Founding her food-blog ‘Deliciously Ella’ in 2012, Ella Mills would fast become an extremely popular and influential food writer. This success would soon lead to her writing her first book also titled ‘Deliciously Ella,’ which would be a recipe book released in 2015. The following year she’d go on to publish her second recipe book, this time titled ‘Deliciously Ella Every Day’ in early 2016.

The rest of her books would also be titled Deliciously Ella, each of them looking at different recipe and themes and ideas, some of which were published under Mills, and some under Woodward. These include a plant-based cookbook and one for smoothies, as well as quick and easy recipes for those on the go. Well received by the public and critics alike, she’s gone on to become a figure at the forefront of her field, gaining lots of acclaim for her work.

Deliciously Ella Every Day

Running under heading of ‘Quick and Easy Recipes’ this opts for convenience as well as health, with recipes for ‘Gluten-Free Snacks,’ as well as ‘Packed Lunches, and Simple Meals.’ Initially brought out in 2016 on the 5th of April, this collection of recipes would come out through the ‘Scribner’ publishing imprint. The pictures and visuals are all bright and vivid once again too, with the recipes well-laid out, making this another definite must for any and all home kitchen space.
