Vampire Kisses
Vampire Kisses is the first book in the Vampire Kisses series. The book stars Raven, a 16-year-old who wears everything Gothic and a strange boy named Alexander Sterling. Raven is more of an outcast in her home town. No one seems to understand her odd dress code, so she pretty much keeps to herself with no friends to speak about. All these changes when a family moves into the haunted mansion up the hill. Alexander is new in town, and Raven thinks he is nothing but handsome. The town prattle is that he and his family are vampires, so just like Raven, they are regarded as outcasts. Raven is coming from a party when they almost run over someone. This person turns out to be the new boy in town.
Raven is interested in the handsome teenager, and her curiosity doubles when she hears the vampires’ rumour. The teenage girl had always coveted a vampire kiss, and this looks like a perfect opportunity to fulfil her dream. Alexander turns out to be just as mysterious as Raven expected. The seventeen-year-old never gets out of his home, and since he is home-schooled knowing him takes quite a while. However, once Raven interacts a few times, a steamy romance begins to brew. After all, what is not to love about a boy who is good with a paintbrush and loves her gothic dress code.
Join Raven and Alexander as they navigate to live in a town where nobody understands them as they figure out their feelings towards each other. Despite their apparent differences, it is incredible what these two have in common. Imagined meeting someone who is into your kind of dressing? For a teenager, that is big. While Alexander is not much of a talker, Raven seems to bring the best out of him. How will the story end for these two? Will Raven find out the truth about Alexander and the mansion she has been avoiding ever since she was a kid?
Vampire Kisses tells the stirring and spooky tale of two outcasts who fall head over heels on each other. The interactions between Alexander and Raven are hilarious, and their thought process will leave you with a smile on your face. Things move very fast here, which is understandable because the story is also short. One minute Raven and Alexander will be meeting each other, and a while later they will be unable to be in the same room without sparks flying. This is a perfect choice if you are looking for a light read you can gobble up in an hour or so. The book is also a perfect teen-read for Halloween. With two teenagers who are a little odd, you can anticipate some intriguing dialogues and unexpected action.
Once in a Full Moon
Once in a Full Moon is the first book in the Full moon series. This book tells the story of Celeste Parker, a popular high schooler who lives on the right side of town. Celeste is friends to Abby and Ivy, and to top it all, she is dating a gorgeous boy called Nash. What more could a girl ask for? When a new boy named Brandon comes to town, Celeste is immediately drawn to him, but because he comes from the Westside, there is no chance of these two interacting.
After a visit to a psychic, Celeste comes across a pack of wolves. Just when she is sure the wolves are going to attack, the gorgeous and enigmatic Brandon appears out of nowhere and saves her. Is it possible that Brandon’s transformation is real or are the shadows playing tricks with Celeste? What is it they say about kissing someone under a full moon? Could this one moment forever alter Celeste’s life?
Celeste knows that her friends will not take it kindly if she leaves her boyfriend Nash and starts dating Brandon. After all, Nash is perfect while Brandon is nothing close to what she is used to. However, Celeste cannot deny the effect Brandon has on her. There is something about him that tells Celeste that he could either be her hero or a dangerous creature one would only expect to encounter in Legend’s Run woods.
Brandon is a man of few words, but wherever he goes, his strength is hard to ignore. Celeste is a good girl, but just like most girls her age, she is keen to please everyone. Her two friends do pressure her to do things she would rather not make it hard for Celeste to share her feelings about Brandon. How will they react when they find out? Will Celeste’s relationship with Brandon affect her friendships?
This story comes with everything from generation-old secrets to psychic traditions. There is the possibility of a unique love between a curious young lady and a heroic werewolf. The book will transport you to the fiction world of Legend’s Run, where divisions keep people from freely interacting with each other. Which is the right side of this small town? What will happen when Celeste crosses over the invisible line because of a boy she cannot get off her mind?
Once in a Full Moon is a story with a solid plot, well-developed characters, and a unique world where werewolves exist. The different characteristics come together beautifully resulting in a masterpiece. This book will hold your attention to the end, and as you tear into the pages, the characters will become incredibly real and relatable. For this book, it is the tiny details that make the story stand out. The simple plot, the unique storyline, and characters that read like people you have met in real life.
