It’s a debut novel that reads like a beautiful hallmark movie; it’s funny, clean, and dreamy. As a reader of romance books, you will love this novel’s setting, which brings a sense of warmth and coziness alongside its well-developed primary and secondary characters. It’s a super short story that can be read in a single sitting in an afternoon, and the best part is that the author draws you so close to the story, making you feel as if you’re watching a movie.

The story introduces us to Wynn, who, after her high school lover dies, leaves her to care for their two children; she foresaw her life would be anything but hard. However, her best friend Judd and also her brother-in-law step in to help her get focused on her life. He helps Wynn get the kids to school, prepares meals, and puts the kids to bed. The man lives next door, and as a result of helping Wynn mourn and move on with her life, he ends up spending more time in her home than in his. This gives Wynn the time to craft beautiful furniture for the fall festival. At first, things seem to be going on pretty well, as some of her furniture’s selling, and then things turn upside down when her friendly feelings for her brother-in-law mature into something else.

From Best Friend to Husband is one of the rare romance novels you will ever read. It’s the kind of book you want to keep reading. The story will draw you in, allowing the characters to get into your imagination and connect with them fully. The characters, both the main and the supporting ones, are fantastic, and the small-town setting is wonderful and magical. It’s a peaceful small town, making it a perfect place for Wynn to mourn and get a chance to love again.

The author did a fantastic job of creating two main characters that resonate with almost every romance reader. On the one hand, we have Wynn. She is such a great character, the kind of a woman that every man will picture himself knowing and being friends with. She is everyone’s friend in the story, although she is clueless about Judd. She is a great mother to her kids and understands that she can’t do everything independently.

On the other hand, we have Judd. He is a great guy and has been best friends with Wynn since before she married. The two have had a history and never anticipated being more than a sister-in-law and brother-in-law. But life has a way of changing well-laid-out plans with surprises. The author also does a fantastic job of solving the biggest problem with romance books. Most romance novels often stop as soon as the lovers get together, cutting off the enjoyment you’d experience with the couple. However, that’s not the case with From Best Friend to Husband, as Judd and Wynn are already together right from the beginning.

Although a book in the Harvest Ranch Romance, Secret Santas and Holiday Dances by Ellie Thornton is a standalone novel with no cliffhangers. The story is set during the Christmas season and tells Grace’s story, an artist and marketing pro at a local art gallery, and Liam, a local lawyer with an office across the street from the art gallery. Grace recently relocated to the Harvest Ranch, where she spends some of her best moments with her cousins. On the other hand, Liam returned home to be near his family and get over a toxic relationship. The two become friends, and Grace hopes their friendship will turn into something more, and unfortunately, her mother shows up and threatens to end everything she’s been working to achieve.
Ellie Thornton has crafted an engaging, dynamic romance novel with easy-to-connect, likable characters. The chemistry between the two main characters jumps off the page even when Liam tries to deny it. The heroine is oblivious to anyone but herself, while the hero holds his own against her. The narrative has plenty of angst, secrets, laughs, trust issues, steam, and passion. This is a highly recommended read for anyone who likes Christmas with romance.

Love and Loathing introduces us to Jessie from Harvest Ranch, where she grew up. She aspired to be a well-known videographer. She had some job but desired more so that she and Caroline could separate and own their own homes. They didn’t want to date any of the men in Harvest Ranch, but their mother insisted they find a nice spouse. Alex Young was a renowned and successful Hollywood actor with an MBA and an accomplished real estate developer. He works in Harvest Ranch with his closest buddy Charlie to construct eight exquisite villas by the river. Caroline, Jessie’s sister, immediately captures Charlie’s attention, while Jessie and Alex don’t get along in their first encounter. Alex has a glass of ice water thrown in his face.
This romance is fantastic because of a variety of factors. This narrative has many elements that make me think of the modern version of Pride and Prejudice, such as the younger sister who flees with the bad boy who doesn’t truly love her but likes the wealth she could contribute to the marriage. This is a good, wholesome tale with a satisfying conclusion.
