Emigh Cannaday is a paranormal romance author who made her debut with “The Flame and The Arrow,” which she published in 2010. Writing is literally in her blood as she comes from a family that dates back to the Black Forest of Germany known for its many dark fairy tales.

The first story she ever told was done in pictures at a time when she was just able to hold crayons in her tiny fingers. It was in the third grade that she published “Away With Mitzi,” which was the winner of the Outstanding Young Author Award.

Cannaday currently makes her home in Wisconsin with her husband “who is a winemaker/rockstar” and their Welsh Corgis, which could not be any more rambunctious.

She grew up painting and drawing but in her adult years, she spends much of her time using words to illustrate her elaborate and offbeat daydreams. When she is not cuddling her dog and hoarding house plants, she can be found trying out new recipes with her family and friends.

Cannaday has always been a visual artist at heart and grew up painting and drawing in addition to scribbling for her own amusement. She has always been a person that took artistic integrity very seriously and has so far stayed true to her values.

After she wrote her first work, she tried to publish it in the traditional way but could not get her foot in the door. Years later, she believes that she was meant to become an Indie author.

Moreover, she has always hated how editors will usually chop up one’s stories to make them unrecognizable. Even worse, a lot of publishers tend to dictate what one should and how they should write.

Emigh Cannaday has asserted that she got into writing to enjoy herself given that she could not find the type of books she wanted to read. As such, she usually writes the type of books that she would like to read.

She has never written for trends unless it was to mock anyone who is doing the same. She values the creative freedom of being an indie author as she can stay true to who she is and write what she wants.

Even though there is nothing she would rather be doing, Emigh Cannaday has a few hobbies of her own. When she is not writing her novels, she can usually be found engaging in these hobbies.

Some of these include working as a stable hand at a ranch, designing custom picture frames, and doing drywall repair and painting. She also loves spending a lot of time with friends and family, riding horses, baking and cooking from scratch, gardening, and doing DIY improvement projects.

One of her favorite pastimes has to be lounging on her deck with her husband and canines enjoying a glass of wine and taking in her garden. It is just unfortunate that since she lives in the north the summers can often be too short.

On a more serious note, she is the host of a show dedicated to all things Star Wars and wine titled “Wine Wars.”

Emigh Cannaday’s novel “The Flame and the Arrow” introduces Annika Brisby, an aspiring rock star that is certain of her future. But then she tumbles into a broken portal and finds herself stranded in a world of vampires, fairies, and other mythical creatures. There is no way of going back until the portal is repaired.

However, things turn around when some wood nymphs who believe she has a bigger destiny, rescue her. Soon after she is adopted by a prominent elven family and struggles against the seductive spell of Talvi, the youngest son of the family.

The man is equal part alluring and arrogant and is also notorious for being a rake, which makes him the perfect distraction she needs. According to her new friends, she should not go anywhere near him. It is not long before what had been a casual fling become something completely different.

By the time she comes to terms with the consequences of her liaisons, the man is already dangerously close to her heart and under her skin.

But while she is heading home, she learns that he had been keeping some dark secrets from her and that he could be in a lot of danger.

“The Silver Thread” by Emigh Cannady continues to follow the story of Talvi and Annika. He has fought off vampire attacks and slain maenads but he could never have been prepared for the allure of modern girls.

Soon enough, he tracks down Annika and immediately knows she is not the same girl she had been when she was in his homeland. She does not seem ready to move on with her life no matter how hard he tries to get her to open up.

What has made her clam up is the fact that he has refused to tell her how he earns a living. She also learned that he walks around with a woman’s handkerchief and has a secret cell phone.

She has refused to lean on Talvi to adjust, instead delving into her job and music. Soon after the two lovers are completely out of sync but they work hard and get it back.
Just when they are finally clicking, he has to travel on business and takes Annika with him to Paris on a working holiday.
But after a series of bad decisions, there is chaos all over and someone may just lose their life.

Emigh Cannady’s novel “The Scarlet Tanager” opens with Annika disappearing without a trace on a very ordinary day. Talvi is going on the hunt for the man who has become his most infuriating rival, even as the only clues he has are from a government he has increasingly been locking horns with.

In exchange for the resources, they can provide, he reveals the true nature of his girlfriend something, which was previously unthinkable. He is now running out of people he can trust, even as time is also not on his side.

Back in his homeland, Finn, his brother is blindsided when out of nowhere Annika turns up injured and suffering from amnesia. Finn is tasked with trying to get her memory back, while his mother tends to her bodily pounds.

The former cannot resist playing mind games with the red-headed beauty who he is falling for fast.
