Emily Franklin is an American author of fiction. She first became a published author with the release of her debut book, The Principles of Love. Emily lives in Boston with her husband and their children and loves spending time with them when she is not writing or spending time a good book.

When she was little she wanted to be a doctor that sang and tap danced and also wrote books. However, finding out early in life that she was not much of a dancer, she decided to leave tap dancing behind forever. When she was older, she decided to attend Oxford University. As an undergraduate she received her degree in neuroscience as well as writing from Sarah Lawrence College.

After graduating, she thought that she would be working in medicine. However, in the end she decided to follow her dreams of dancing. She dated and traveled quite a bit and even worked as a chef for a bit before returning to study at Dartmouth. There she skied and fished on a daily basis and even wrote a couple of screenplays while she was at it. In the end, she earned her Master’s Degree in media studies and writing.

She edited medical texts and also thought about writing a novel. Then she went to Martha’s Vineyard without really planning too far ahead. This spur of the moment trip was where she met her future husband. They fall in love, get married, and have their first child together. She then writes a novel and starts writing more often.

She has written books for adults and young adults. Her adult novels include Liner Notes and The Girls’ Almanac. Her books for young adults feature her Love series as well as The Chalet Girls series, as well as The Other Hall of Me and At Face Value.

She also edited the non fiction book, It’s a Wonderful Lie, which came out in 2007. It is a book that talks about the myths and lies that we hear or believe about being in our twenties. Franklin also edited the novel Before, an anthology that contains stories from women who are or have been pregnant.

She has also come out with her own novel that is a combination of recipes and essays. Too Many Cooks is a part memoir and part cook book. Hyperion will also be publishing her novel Discovery in the Kitchen. She has had her work appear in many publications and anthologies. She writes on a regular basis about the topics of parenting and food for many magazines and newspapers. Franklin also speaks at panels and leads writing seminars.

Emily Franklin is the author of the Principles of Love series. This series kicked off in 2005 with the debut novel of the same name. Franklin continued with the sequel of Piece, Love, and Happiness. This first book is like a breath of fresh air when it comes to books written for young adults. If you or your child loves The Gilmore Girls, they’ll love this novel for teens in this fun series.

The Principles of Love is the first novel in the series of the same name by Emily Franklin! The main character of Love Bukowski has pretty much the perfect life. She goes to a prep school that she loves and can just roll out of bed and be in class within just a few minutes. Thanks of course to her status as a resident of the best house in Hadley Hall Campus.

Love’s dad is also the principal and even though she’s going to be part of the future leaders of the nation and maybe one of the lushes too, she’s thrilled that she’s made so many close friends at this school. Love enjoys singing and the hot guys in the upper classes love to stick around to hear her sing some of her original songs. For her, life could not possibly get any better.

However, it’s actually not that way at all. Her father may be the principal of a prep school in New England, but she’s not popular or talented. She’s been having a tough time making friends and there are no hot upperclassment stopping by to hear her sing, just guys she has no interest in.

There are a lot of hot guys at this prep school, but she only really has eyes for one. He’s a senior and the idea of ever being able to go out with him would be like a dream come true. She’s busy planning her fantasies and trying to think about how she can make her real life as great as the movie version that she dreams about in her head.

Can Love transform her reality into something totally different and become the queen on the scene at this snobby prep school? And will she be able to win the guy that she wants over in the end? You’ll have to pick up this debut novel in Emily Franklin’s series in order to find out!

Piece, Love, and Happiness is the second novel in the Principles of Love series. The readers are reunited with Love once again, and with the summer ending the time has come for Love to return to high school. Her aunt Mable may be acting strange, but at least she’s got her friends. Oh wait, her ex-friend Cordelia is busy hanging out with Lindsay Parrish. Everyone knows that she’s evil!

Love’s ex is busy stuck in Europe and her dad is totally busy. Now she’s the host to an exchange student that has come here from London. She’s a little busy helping Arabella Piece get used to the area and going to school. It’s a nice change from checking out guys over the summer. But is it her, or does Arabella Piece seem to be hiding a secret?

With everyone seeming like they have secrets to hide, Love is kind of confused. Nothing is the same as it was last year, but then again, that’s not so bad. What will the school year hold? You’re going to have to pick up Piece, Love, and Happiness to find out!
