Emily Robertson is a bestselling romance novelist that is best known as the author of the “Portwood Brothers” series of novels.

The author showed signs of being a very creative and imaginative child as she participated in stage plays while still in middle school. She was and is still an avid reader who enjoys reading contemporary and new adult romances, as much as she loves writing them.

Robertson made her debut with the publishing of “Playing by the Rules” in 2015 and has never looked back since. She now has more than a dozen titles spread out across a handful of series. She gets the ideas for her novels from all over the place and in fact got the idea for her debut from a dream.

She has said that the best thing about being an author is that she gets to share her imagined worlds with others. Still, she has said that she writes for herself and has been doing so for several years. Getting other people to read and love her works as much as she does is just the icing on the cake.

When Robertson is not writing her novels, she loves to spend time with her dog the outdoors. Sometimes, she does go to baseball games, which is a sport she has become interested in ever since her son started playing.

When she is not in the outdoors walking her dog or watching baseball, she can usually be found binge-watching reality TV shows. Emily also likes to keep her readers and audiences on what she is doing with her novels through her newsletter.

“Playing it Cool” by Emily Robertson is the story of Addison who knew what she wanted to do ever since she was a little girl. She planned on going to the University of Nebraska for her pre-law degree before proceeding to a top law school, which would make her a top-notch lawyer.

She also wants a husband at some point but that part still remains hazy. But she is certain that he cannot be the annoying class clown Bryce Portwood. Bryce has a reputation for not taking anything too seriously, as all he wants is to have fun, after all, life is too short to be very serious.

The moment he met Addison, he immediately knew she was too worked up and that he was the one to help her loosen up. He knew how to get her to hang out but trusting him and lightening up was much harder.

His plan is to make her see he could be fun but first he needs to convince her to let go. If he can play cool maybe he could one day achieve his lofty dreams.

Emily Robertson’s novel “Playing by the Rules” is the story of Payton, who had vowed that she would wait until she was done with college before she got a boyfriend.

But most people think she is not being practical. Even her mother who gave birth to her at sixteen thinks she is out of her mind. When she goes back to school following an incident that upended her life, she held to her rule even more tightly.

On the other hand, is Josh whose past has ruled his life for far too long. When he finally arrives at college, he is happy that he now gets to be his own man.
But just when he thinks things could not get any better his life gets very complicated. His ex comes back on the scene and he can no longer get her out of his head.

Once he manages to convince her to give him a second chance and she agrees, he finds her so cold that he thinks it may not have been worth the trouble. Still, he knows she is special and is determined to open her up and make her his.

“Playing with Fire” by Emily Robertson introduces Jackson who desires his brother’s girlfriend, the one thing forbidden to him. He has tried everything to get her out of his mind. Still, even spending nearly a year in Afghanistan could not make him forget her.

Now that he is on his way home, he once again will have to share a house with the woman of his desires and his brother. On her part, Emma is not a believer in following the heart. At some point, she had done exactly that and ended up broken and all alone.

After she healed, love took a back seat as all she wanted was to just have fun. There is nothing special out there she told herself. When she meets Jackson who is also looking for something similar, they get into a no strings attached relationship but they are playing with fire.
