Eric Ugland is a renowned American writer of fantasy, gameLit, and fiction stories. He has written several mind-blowing novels and series in his career. Some of his most popular works include the Hunter Smith series, Roseland series, Good Guys series, Pine Puff Chronicles, Dark Bureau Cases series, Bad Guys series, etc. Additionally, Ugland has penned a single novel in 2017 called Commander in Thief. He has also contributed to the Chronicle of Underrealm series by working in collaboration with author Antoine Bandele to write the series’ third book called A Night on the Seat. Author Ugland hails from Seattle. When he was young, he had run away from his hometown for his interest in joining the circus.
After toiling for a few years, he realized that he needed to do something that would earn him his livelihood and also make him happy. Having come to his senses in time worked very well in his favor. After a short stay in Manhattan, where he found his true interest in the art of writing, Ugland relocated to Los Angeles. He seems to have finally settled down and now enjoys his days as a successful author. His work has brought him a lot of praise from the noteworthy names of the publishing world. Ugland believes his fans will never understand his frequent relocation and trying his hand at different things. He knows that they will have all sorts of views about him, but it doesn’t bother him. He wants them not to get too involved in his personal life as some of the decisions taken by him do not make any sense to him as well.
Author Ugland thinks the best thing about his work as a writer is that he gets to tell people stories and seeing them enjoy his work gives a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction to him. Just like every other author out there, he too comes across writer’s block at times. But, Ugland tries to overcome it by looking at his work as an important job. He thinks he has to get the job done anyhow and for that, he tries his best to keep himself engaged. When it becomes really uncreative at certain times, Ugland tries to pick up some fun activity to remain cheered up and think positively. Very often, he tends to interact with unknown people and engage in some sort of interesting conversation. This helps to get the boredom out of his mind and freshens him up.
Ugland also likes to go out and have a refreshing cup of coffee. He even loves to take long walks as it allows him to think of exciting ideas for his upcoming books and provides fresh air at the same time. Ugland is of the opinion that a man can come up with the best of ideas if he makes full use of his imaginative powers while enjoying a walk alone. This way, there is no disturbance or interference from others. A lot of times it has happened with him that he has come up with solutions to some of the creative problems by just being out. And to not let go of any idea unnoticed, Ugland keeps a notebook and a pen with him all the time. So, he notes down anything worth remembering that comes to his mind immediately. So, Ugland has enjoyed this process very much and intends to continue doing it for as long as he can.
The author follows a typical writing routine of using most of the daytime to finish his work. However, it keeps changing as and when others come up. Usually, he would start around 9 am and then go on to write until two in the afternoon. Ugland follows the formula of writing for 20 minutes straight and then taking a 10 minutes break. When the first sitting of his writing work for the day is finished, Ugland switches over to planning, thinking, and researching. This goes on till the evening, after which he devotes all his time to personal engagements. Ugland hangs out with his family and friends and even goes out to enjoy his favorite drink. At night, after helping his kid to go to bed, he sits down to watch TV shows or read books.
Ugland thinks having the creative mind of a writer is the most marketable talent he possesses. It is something that he has been excited to do every day without feeling bored. He wishes to write many more interesting stories in the years to come so that his fans can enjoy more of his work. Ugland hopes to get the same love and support from readers across the globe as they have given to his previously published novels. With already being widely successful, he wishes to achieve more success and popularity with his hard work and dedication.
The Roseland series written by author Eric Ugland began in 2015. It contains multiple titles and features the chief protagonist in the role of an unlicensed private investigator named Ginger Mitchell. Ugland has set the novels in Las Vegas and Portland. Each novel describes an intriguing story and keeps the readers hooked until the very end. Some of the essential characters created by Ugland for this series include Ruth, Amber, Darlene, Shannon Melby, etc. The debut book of the series is entitled ‘Home Is Where The Start Is’. It was published by Air Quotes Publishing in 2015. This book introduces Ginger Mitchell as a dancer and escort in Las Vegas. When she learns about the suicide of her mother, she packs her bag and returns to her hometown in Portland.
Ginger seems saddened and disheartened at the terrible news of her mother’s suicide, but she realizes that things are not what they appear to be. So, she begins to dig into the case and suspects that her mother was murdered. Her suspicion grows firm when no one else wants to believe that her mother could have been murdered. Later, she starts seeing the ghost of her mother, who hints that she was indeed murdered. Ginger decides to take the matter into her hand to find out what really happened to her mother. Ginger hopes to continue doing this work after solving her mother’s alleged suicide case as she begins to like the idea of being a detective and investigating things.
The second installment of the mystery series is known as ‘The Ruth is Out There’. It was also published in 2015 by the Air Quotes publication. This novel shows that Ginger is still working to get to the bottom of her mother’s murder mystery working on other cases that come her way. One such case is that of a missing girl named Ruth. It is only known about Ruth that she was only wearing her swimsuit when she disappeared mysteriously. Ginger doesn’t have much information to move forward with the investigation. She only knows her phone number and had come across her once when she had saved her from local goons. She just hopes that Ruth is safe wherever she is and she can get to her before time runs out.
