I’m looking forward to the weather getting better.
I’m a big audiobook listener but it’s usually when I am outside running.
And unfortunately it’s -30 and about 4 foot of snow every day in Canada where I live at the moment.
So I am restricted to the treadmill, where I actually play Xbox instead as it makes time go super fast. There are SOME games I play where I can listen to an audiobook but I am deep into Deep Rock Galactic Survivor right now, and all the sounds etc from it really add to it.
Oh well. In February I read:
Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy: The story of a woman and her team attempting to reintroduce Wolves to Scotland. I read this for the Book Notification Podcast and I am glad I did – I LOVED this one. Highest recommendation of the month.
His & Hers by Alice Feeney: Psychological thriller. I read this as did my wife and daughter, then we all watched the adaptation together. That was super cool.
The book was very good, built on a lot of twists. The problem is you know the twists, and they are what carried the story. So while I thought the adaptation, in terms of an adaptation, was excellent, it was a bit dull.
Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid: A dual timeline butterfly effect style book. It was okay. Nothing I’d rush out to recommend but I’ll give her another try.
Dear Debbie by Freida McFadden: Disappointed in this one unfortunately. Felt a big step outside of reality.
That’s about it. I’ve got Misery by Stephen King on the go right now.
