Steve Higgs is a published author of fiction.

When Steve first sat down to write his first novel, titled Paranormal Nonsense, he was serving in the British Army as a Captain. He says that he would enjoy pretending that he had occupied one of those types of careers that has to be redacted or denied by the government, having to continuously move around and change his name since he is on the watch list of different countries, but that is not the case.

The true story of events is that he began as a simple mechanic. Not the type of contract killer secret mechanic type like Jason Statham plays, but Higgs recounts that it’s more like one of the types that charge you a lot and keep the car you’ve handed over for about a week when the only thing that you brought it in for was a squeaking door hinge.

The author says that while attending school, he didn’t have much of an interest in any subject in particular with the exception of creative writing. When he was ten years old, he received his first ever award. Higgs says that calling it the first award he had gotten implies that there were more down the line, but there have not been.

Higgs says that he enjoys writing crime thrillers and mystery stories and says that he claims to have over a hundred books in his head lining up in a queue to get out. He has since retired from the military. Higgs resides in England in the south-east region with his pair of sausage dogs. He is surrounded by natural beauty, including castles, rolling hills, and vineyards. The author says that he doubts whether he’ll ever leave the region since the beer there is ‘just too good’.

Steve Higgs is the creator and the author of the Felicity Philips Investigates series of novels. The mystery series first got started with the release of the first book, To Love and to Perish. This was quickly followed up by the second novel in the series, Tying the Noose. The third novel in the series is cleverly titled Aisle Kill Him. The fourth novel is titled A Dress to Die For, while the fifth novel in the series is called Wedding Ceremony Woes.2

To Love and to Perish is the first novel in the Felicity Philips Investigates series by Steve Higgs. If you’ve been searching for a fun and light murder mystery to read, check out the debut in this series!

When it comes to marriage, sometimes it can be murder. It’s a high-pressure industry, and the bride is usually the one stuck under the stress as she tries to plan things all out accordingly and make it perfect. That’s why there is such a demand for wedding planners, who can swoop in and assist the bride so that it’s not all on her shoulders and she can enjoy the lead-up to the big day.

That’s where Felicity Philips usually comes in. She is a wedding planner and caters to the whims and the needs of the rich and the famous. She’s a high-end planner and is always moving on to the next gig once her current one is triumphantly completed. She does fairly well for herself and receives quite a bit of business as her services are constantly in demand.

Now that she’s got her schedule free, she’s planning on landing what could be her biggest gig to date and the largest, most important wedding she’s ever planned. She desperately wants to plan the next royal wedding, but there also remain a couple of obstacles in the way that she’s going to have to deal with if she wants that.

These obstacles are no small hurdles, either. One of them involves a dead body, which would be not so bad if the police did not also currently have their suspicions that Felicity herself is responsible for the murder. She’s not in custody, but they do have her eye on her. Worse than that, her rivals have heard of the misfortune and are getting ready to run her name through the mud. That way, they’ll get all of the extra business to themselves and have one less competitor to deal with in an extremely competitive field.

There’s a lot on the line, and Felicity needs to set out to show that she isn’t the killer and do it quickly. However, in order to accomplish that, she’s going to have to also do a bit of legwork herself and find out who the real killer is. All the while without having the killer discover just what it is that she is doing.

As a result, the wedding planner is now playing detective. She’s got her bulldog Buster to protect her and a ragdoll cat named Amber to provide support. The amateur sleuth doesn’t know anything about how to solve a crime, but with her reputation on the line, she’s determined to do what she can to figure out this mystery once and for all.

Can Felicity track down a killer and prove that she’s not the murderer, saving her reputation and business? Or will it all fall apart? Read this mystery book to find out how it ends!

Tying the Noose is the second novel in the Felicity Philips Investigates series by Steve Higgs. The series continues with yet another installment in the adventures of wedding planner Felicity Philips.

Felicity is a wedding planner to the rich and famous. This time around, she’s taking the weekend to run an event on a private island. The landscape is gorgeous, and the venue is architecturally impressive. All in all, it’s the ideal setting for a wedding. But all that may change when a murder happens.

Felicity’s been having difficult gigs lately, so she was hoping that this time around things would run a little better and more smoothly. Then things take a change for the worse when a storm no one saw coming cuts everyone off from the mainland. This is before staff and guests can arrive and is pretty much the worst-case scenario.

It’s a huge problem for a wedding planner who wants to impress a prince. However, a guest is discovered hanging from the rafters, and now everyone present knows that there’s a killer among them.

With the help of her niece and assistant Mindy as well as Buster her dog and Amber her cat, can Felicity figure out what’s going on? Will the day be ruined? Read this mystery to find out how the team does!
