Fenella J Miller
Fenella J Miller was born in the Isle of Man. Her mom was the daughter of a Rajah and dad was a Yorkshire man.

Besides being a full time writer, Fenella has also worked as a cleaner, chef, field worker, nanny, secondary and primary teacher, and hotelier.

Fenella is a widow and lives in a small village in Essex with her British shorthair cat.

“The Duke’s Challenge” is the first novel in the “Duke” series and was released in 2007. Charlotte Carstairs has got no choice but to seek out Lord Thurston, her estranged grandpa and the Duke of Lenster, and ask him for help. Without it, she and her siblings are going to be destitute.

Major Jack Griffin, a dissolute and disfigured Napoleonic war veteran, now holds the title and is determined not to let Charlotte and her family stay at Thurston. He offers her this impossible challenge. Charlotte and the kids can stay if she’s able to improve the dilapidated house and poor estate within only two months. Charlotte doesn’t have any choice but to accept.

Charlotte, despite Jack’s many faults, is drawn to him. While their love continues to grow, there are some sinister forces that are working pretty hard to ruin their plans. Will they be able to unmask these murderous plotters before they wind up losing everything?

“Barbara’s War” is the first novel in the “Barbara’s War” series and was released in 2012. Barbara Sinclair is desperate to escape from her home in Hastings. Tom and David, her beloved half-brothers, are getting sent to boarding school due to the town being a likely target of the German Luftwaffe once the bombing begins and John Thorogood, who is a childhood friend, also is leaving to join up with the RAF. Barbara, caught up in the emotion of the moment, agrees to marry the guy once the war has ended.

She learns that her paternal grandparents know absolutely nothing about her and she’s determined to find them. Dr. Edward Sinclair, her grandpa, is delighted to welcome Barbara to her dad’s ancestral home yet her reception from her grandma is rather frosty. But she still enjoys her new life.

Barbara is obliged to go back to Hastings and her grandpa goes with her, but this visit changes her life forever. Now she not only has got John as a dear friend, but Simon Farley, a local industrialist’s son, as well as Alex Everton, who is this handsome Spitfire pilot, taking interest in her.

But then it all changes. Evil is stalking her paradise. Is Simon, John, or Alex going to be the man that saves her life?

“The Girls in Blue” is the first novel in “The Girls in Blue” series and was released in 2020. Jane Hadley has got nothing to lose when she runs off to join the Women’s Auxillary Air Force. Whatever faces her in war torn London cannot be worse than remaining at home with her abusive dad.

The city’s nothing at all like she could’ve imagined, yet she is soon on the move, traveling from one base to another for her top-secret training. Making plenty of friends along the way, it sure doesn’t take too long for Jane to embrace her growing confidence, particularly under the dashing Officer Oscar Stanton’s attentive eye.

Life for an independent woman is just as rewarding as it is exciting, up until Jane’s dad tracks her down and it all comes crashing to a stop. Jane is going to need all of her new-found strength to find her way on back to the frontline, and to the guy that she has fallen for.

“The East End Girl in Blue” is the second novel in “The Girls in Blue” series and was released in 2021. While the war rages on all around her, a girl in blue’s life is going to change forever.

Even during wartime, Nancy Evans (an East End girl) has got good reason to hope. She is a rising star in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force and she is going to be walking on down the aisle any day now at this point. However one brutal night of bombing changes her life forever.

Newly pregnant and single, she swaps out her blue uniform for a pinny, taking housekeeping duties on for David Denny, the handsome doctor of the village. Even though Nancy attempts to remain cheerful and contribute to the war effort any way that she can, it isn’t all that long before she finds herself leaning upon David for comfort.

The countryside is a world apart from the home that she grew up in, and Nancy quickly learns that not everybody approves of her Poplar roots, or the romantic entanglement she’s got with David. Yet David does not even care about where she comes from. Does he?

“The War Girls of Goodwill House” is the first novel in the “Goodwill House” series and was released in 2022. With war looming, can they keep the home fires burning? Lady Joanna Harcourt and Sarah, her daughter, find that their life of luxury at Goodwill House has ended. Because with Lord Harcourt off fighting, the Harcourt girls are now facing financial ruin.

Lady Joanna is horrified of losing their home, yet for Sarah, it means that her dreams of ever becoming a doctor have ended. But headstrong Sarah is not one too throw in the towel and quit! War or not, she is determined to figure out a way to save her home and follow her dreams, whatever it might take!

Angus Trent, a dashing RAF officer, may just save the day. The new RAF base at Manston is going to soon be filled with young women all hoping to serve their country, and Goodwill House is going to make for the perfect home for them. However can Sarah really convince Lady Joanna to agree to this plan of hers?

Angus never has met a woman quite like Sarah: brave, unwavering, and courageous. She’s got a major task ahead of her, yet if anybody could do it, his war girl can.
