G.G. Vandagriff is a bestselling and award winning regency romance author. She won the Best Historical Novel Award for the novel “The Last Waltz” in 2009.
The author made her debut with “Cankered Roots” the debut novel of the Alex and “Brigge Genealogical Mysteries” series of novels in 1994. Vandagriff now has more than thirty four titles across more than eight series of novels, several stand alones and collections.

She has been compared to Georgette Heyer, the witty author and has written just as many Regency romances. She started out as a traditional author but went Indie in 2012.

In her earlier years, G.G. Vandagriff had gone to Stanford for her bachelors degree and then to George Washington University for her masters degree.

She would then work at the Hoover Institution at Stanford, an international banker at Continental Illinois National Bank, at the Harvard’s Treasurer’s office as assistant treasurer and at Fidelity Investments as a bond analyst. Even though her major was in international relations she somehow found herself working in finance.

Once her husband was done with law school, she decided that she wanted to do nothing but raise kids and write novels. G.G. Vandagriff would go on to get three children and seven grandchildren with her husband David. With her kids gone, she had all the time to start writing her novels.

Aside from her grandchildren, her favorite things include dachshunds, Florence, hot chocolate, oreos, and the Chicago Cubs.

G.G. Vandagriff had always been a voracious reader right from her childhood. At Stanford, a professor had told her that she would need to give up Mormonism to become a successful author. But she loved Mormonism more and decided to give up writing instead.

She went on to take a masters in international relations and worked in the private sector with her writing dreams on the back burner. When her children were older, she started writing when they went to sleep. She got a head of steam when the family moved to the Missouri Ozarks, where she started writing in earnest.

Vandagriff would then face debilitating depression and could not write for years. When she finally beat her depression, she started picking up the many manuscripts she had written earlier. Over the years, she would become an Amazon bestselling author of historical mysteries and regency romances.

Still she does enjoy hopping genres and has since published romantic suspense novels, regency romances, historical epics, womens fiction novels, golden age mysteries and some novellas.

“The Duke’s Undoing” by G.G. Vandagriff is a compelling novel that introduces the Duke of Ruisdell. He is written as a traditional Regency Romance unlikely hero after the manner of Candice Hern and Georgette Heyer.

The duke is back from fighting the Napoleonic wars and is now a very bored, cynical and weary man. He has a reputation for being one of the worst rakes in Britain, even though he is not interested in carrying that distinction. As such, when the Marquis of Somerset who is one of his best friends suggests a bet, he cannot refuse.

He tells him that seducing Miss Elise Edwards would cure his condition and for his troubles he would give him five thousand guineas. To make it legitimate the two friends post their bet on the famous Betting Book by White.

The following day, as he walks at the park he sees a veiled mysterious woman who is in obvious grief. A strange sounding disembodied voice that sounds like that of his deceased officer tells him his rake days are over. He scoffs at the suggestion that he needs to marry the girl but is intrigued by her slight figure.

G.G. Vandagriff’s novel “The Taming of Lady Kate” is the beautiful romance story of Kate and Francesco, her Italian first love. She still thinks she is in love with the man but her father has forbidden her from marrying him.

She does not need the money but if she defies her father and marries her Italian lover, she will have to leave her younger step brother under the care of Freddie, her cousin. While he is quite capable, he does not want to leave her brother with him as he has indicated that he wants to ship him off to Eton.
She heads off to London to find a marriage of convenience as he knows Englishmen could never be as passionate as Francesco, her Italian lover. What she is looking for is someone that can take care of her young step brother.

For Jack, he wants someone he can marry so that he can get his hands on the inheritance. Caroline, his childhood friend, had rejected his advances as she intended to marry for love. He heads to London and when he meets Kate, he just knows that everything has changed.

Unwittingly, they manage to put each other’s lives in danger as they both have secrets they are keeping from each other.

“Miss Braithwaite’s Secret” by G.G. Vandagriff introduces the inimitable Caroline Braithwaite, who leaves her first London season early leaving everyone perplexed. When she arrives back in Wiltshire, she never confides in her best friend or her parents.

But she is seriously discomposed when she attends a house party at which she meets the duke of Beverly. He is dealing with the pain of a broken engagement and he is not interested in getting back with a woman he dated for a while in London.

Caro is strongly attracted to the enigmatic duke, but since he had broken her heart once she is not sure he deserves a second chance. The two slowly come to learn more about each other and it is not long before they realize that they may have been deceived by first impressions.

Even though they become more intimate over time, circumstances are just not right and this results in a lot of misunderstandings. How many times does Caro have to put up with the weird behavior of Ned as he seems unable to learn how to love.
