Gerald Hammond is a Scottish author of fiction. The majority of his novels have been circulated under this name. He also has written books using the pen names of Dalby Holden and Arthur Douglas. He passed away in 2015.

Gerald Hammond was born on August 19, 1926. He worked for three decades as an architect before deciding he would like to retire. He lived in Scotland for a period of time with his family. In 1982 he left the profession to have the spare time to do what he loved, shooting, writing, fishing, and more.

Once he left his full-time job, this author then began writing his novels on a full time basis. His success began in the sixties and never ceased from that original point. His first novel was released in 1965 and is titled Fred In Situ. He has composed well over seventy novels in total during the course of his literary career.

Gerald’s books often share common themes, often taking place in the outdoors or featuring sport in nature in some way. Many of his stories tend to feature fishing, hunting, guns, shooting, and even dog training. His last novel to come out was The Kindest Cut in 2012.

Gerald Hammond is the creator and the author of the fictional Keith Calder series. The series became known to readers for the first time in 1979, when the debut novel was released. Dead Game was a hit, and the sequel would come out the next year. There are a total of 23 books in this series. The twenty-third book in the series is called Follow That Gun and it was released in 1997.

Dead Game is the first book in the Keith Calder series by author Gerald Hammond. In this story, readers got to meet the main character for the first time. He is a shooting instructor, a gunsmith, and so much more.

It becomes clear right off the bat that Keith is a bit of a rascal. He does not have the type of personality where he is going to skirt the right side of the law all of the time. Think of him a bit as James Dean in the movie Rebel Without a Cause. His attitude is one where he’s going to be a renegade and that is that.

Keith is known to be kind of a rascal. He’s a scamp and while he has a love of a great many things and a variety of hobbies that he enjoys, some of them are occasionally more dangerous than others. For instance, he is a poacher of birds. So he has some good qualities and he has some bad qualities.

When it comes to Keith, he is currently attending a shoot as a guest. However, his time at Scottish Borders is interrupted when a syndicate member is found dead. It is at first assumed to be an accident. That assumption is quickly thrown away when the body is discovered to contain a bullet. Suddenly, it is looking like this is a case of murder.

Keith has an interest in checking out this case on a personal level to begin with. His interest only grows when he finds out that his girlfriend’s brother has been arrested and subsequently charged with committing this very same murder.

With no choice but to look into things himself, Keith begins a quiet campaign on his own. He starts making his own investigations into what really happened. He doesn’t want to get anyone else involved, but it isn’t too long before his girlfriend is put in harm’s way.

Will the two be able to find out more about the murder? Can they track down whoever did it, or will Keith’s detective work be all in vain? Read this book to find out what happens in the end!

Check out the book that others are praising! This caper with an outdoors back to nature feel to it taking place in the lowlands of Scotland is one that is guaranteed to feel authentic thanks to Hammond’s accumulated passion for the countryside of Scotland and his knowledge on the subject of guns.

The Reward Game is the second book in the Keith Calder series. If you love suspenseful mystery stories that keep you wondering what’s going to happen all the way to the end, then you have to check out the first book and then the sequel from author Gerald Hammond!

Life can be tough, but death can be even tougher. Imagine that you are going back to your car that you had safely parked and opening it up to find a dead body. That would probably not be the best day or night of your life. It’s certainly not what you would expect when you left it behind and there was nothing like that in it.

However, this is precisely the exact circumstance that Molly Calder finds herself in. Finding the body is what is going to lead to a difficult road for Keith and his wife. They are kindred spirits in many ways, but sometimes the money just doesn’t come flowing in some months as much as it does in others.

The two of them currently have a lot of work on their plates. They’re trying to chase down some reward money in exchange for finding some missing money and gems. If the two of them are able to find it, they will get a handsome cut for their efforts.

Keith and Molly are in for a long search. It will take them from the rural area that they are used to and beyond it to Glasgow’s bustling center. The journey may be longer than they would think. But with some help from friends ad family while they do their best, they may have more of a shot than they hope they do.

When she sees a certain house, Molly really wants to purchase it. It would be the dream home to live in. Even though she is trying to focus on keeping herself and Keith safe, Can the two of them complete their mission and have some time and money left over for real estate? Read this awesome second installment of the classic Keith Calder series to find out for yourself!
