Thea Stilton is the younger sister of an Italian author Geronimo Stilton. The author began the publication of Thea Stilton series in 2005 when the first novel in Thea Stilton series, Thea Stilton and the Dragon’s Code was published.

Thea Stilton and the Dragon’s Code

This is the first book in Thea Stilton series by Thea Stilton and features Thea, Geronimo’s adventurous sister. The first book is packed with thrilling adventure, mystery, and friendship.

After Thea is invited to lecture a journalism class at a college in Mouse Island, the idea of being called upon to solve a mystery doesn’t ring a bell in her mind. However, after a student disappears, it is upon Thea and some of her students to investigate and find out what happened to the missing student. This first installment is a complete nail biting mystery, complete with underground tunnels, secret passages, and more surprises along the way.
The main character in this novel is a mouse named Thea Stilton. She is called upon to teach at Mouseford Academy. While teaching at Mouseford Academy makes some friends, and these are the same friends who help her find a missing mouse named Hans Ratson who is also a teacher at the same college.

Together they discover that the missing teacher (mouse) was searching for ancient codes before his disappearance. The main characters in this first installment are Thea, Paulina, Pamela, Violet, and Colette. Their primary challenge is finding their missing friend Hans Ratson. Throughout the narrative, the students learn how to work together, how not to fight and argue.

The characterization in this book is great and exciting. First, there is Thea Stilton. She is courageous, hardworking and determined to find the missing mouse. Then there is Violet from China, she is shy but loves classical music. Nick is an Australian and loves outdoor activities more than indoor activities while the French Colette adores fashion, and above all, she loves the color pink. As the story progresses, we can see these main characters develop and mature further. They were once strangers and new students at Mouseford Academy, but they end up being a great friend despite all the differences they have, and due to this their hidden strengths are revealed. Nick becomes their peacemaker while Paulina the mouse from Peru becomes their IT or computer wizard.

The first book is extremely colorful, the illustrations are well detailed, and the informative sidebars and the cartoony maps tell more about the stories of real world settings. There are magnifying glasses icons added into the story to help the reader or that the readers can use to solve the mystery and the keywords are varied in typography and are brightly colored.

Thea Stilton and the Mountain of Fire

In this second series installment, Thea sisters have traveled to Australia to solve a mystery that involves an ill sheep at Nicky’s ranch. Through their investigations, they discover that a mouse named Mortimer McCardigan was the cause of the problem. Then Nicky’s grandma informed her to take a photo of her clan on it. Then Nicky took the necklace with her on her quest of finding an ancient Australian aborigine. When they discover the aborigine, Nicky asks the elders if they knew the existences of a cure that could heal the sheep. Fortunately, she soon figures out that the medicine that she requires was right inside her necklace all through.

Book two in the series is an interesting story of how life is in the remote regions of Australia, where the ranches are so big, and they spread out to the point that they are called stations. Children have to attend their schools using computers and radios. This story is a fast paced adventure that gives us (the readers) a glimpse of the Australian landscape and reading it; you will get to learn more about the Outback Ball, Billabongs, and Uluru. The interactions between the characters are fun reading, and the author has added some dialogue scenes to enable the readers to get more understanding of the characters, their behaviors and understand why certain characters make individual choices and decisions.

This story is inspiring, humorous, exuberant, and educational and it is a worthy read.

Thea Stilton and the Ghost of the Shipwreck

In the third series installment, Thea, Geronimo adventurous sister narrates a fabulous adventure full of mystery, action, and friendship.

During a marine biology class at the Mouseford College, Thea sisters learn about a mysterious shipwreck located off the Whale Island. A legend has is it that a rare diamond known as Jasmine Heart was on the ship when it went down the waters. After a biology teacher Van Kraken vanishes, the Thea Sisters have to dive deep down the ocean to find the missing teacher and the anciently lost diamond. And when they ought to know that their adventures are over, they receive an invitation to travel to China and search for another missing treasure. This is a thrilling adventure of five mice traveling across the world that you will never forget.

The third series installment takes Thea sisters into the ocean and beyond, they help their professor solve a mystery and then travel to China to have a look at Violet’s parent’s performance. They also must help their good friend Xiao solve a complex mystery about a newly lacquered box that his mother just purchased from the shop. They also must figure out why Madame Hu wants the box so badly, and find out the mysteries that no one seems to know.

Thea Stilton and the Mystery in Paris

In this fifth installment, the Thea sisters are off to France to visit their friend Julie, a fashion designer. However, when Julie’s designs are stolen, these girls must search the entire city of Paris to find the thief and save their friends fashion show.

Julie’s room was broken into, but thankfully she had left her computer back at home and so nothing is stolen. However, the following day tragedy strikes once more, and all of Julie’s gowns are stolen. Through their search, Thea’s sisters find themselves in a mysterious and heartbreaking situation after they finally catch the person who stole Julie’s fashion designs.
