Publication Order of Goddess Girls Books

This is a series of books which were written by Joan Holub. They were published under the Aladdin imprint by Schuster and Simon. The books were concerned majorly about the Greek goddesses. The series narrates stories of Olympian pantheon, a younger generation of privileged tween students who join mount Olympus academy to build up and better their skills.

The series particularly focused on four characters;

Persephone

She is the daughter of Demeter. Demeter is the goddesses of fertility. She loves flowers and can make them grow with only a single touch of her fingers. She has a frizzy red hair, a pale skin and she frequently wears a Chilton of a yellow colour. She seems not to like the policy of her mother of go along to get along. She throws away that policy when she meets a boy known as Hades whom she has a crush on. Hades is the godboy of death. Persephone starts to live her own life and with her opinions without following others. She has a character of trying to solve out issues diplomatically and she is calm. Beside loving flowers, Persephone came to develop love for dogs because of Cerberus. Cerberus is a three headed dog that lived in the underworld. She is also seen to develop an interest in death. In the book of girl’s games, she realizes she also loves cats.

Athena

She is referred to as a brainy girl who never completely fit in her junior high school. She is the smartest in the academy as she scores straight excellent grades. Athena finally comes to discover that Zeus is her father, and the mother is a fly. Zeus is the king of Gods and the ruler of heavens. She also has a step sister named Pallas. Before coming to the academy, Pallas was the best friend to Athena back on earth. She had grey eyes, a wavy brown hair and usually she liked wearing a Chilton colored blue. Athena is the youngest but she is the smartest among the goddess girls. After some times, she finally becomes friends with Aphrodite, Artemis, and Persephone who are the most all the rage girls in the academy. They turn to be the best friends and help each other although they seem different. Athena likes the owls most compared to other animals. Her intelligence and wisdom leads her to become the goddesses’ girl of wisdom at the academy. In the book Athena the wise, She is seen developing a crush on a strong mortal known as Heracles who joins at the academy.

Aphrodite

She is referred to as the goddess of beauty and love. She is one of the most popular girls in the academy school. Aphrodite is obsessed with her looks; she is the most attractive and cutest goddess girls. Physically she has a long curly blond hair and wears different colors of Chilton but mostly prefers the pink one. She loves make up and matching mortals and also helping the mortals in love, to improve their grades. Her beauty seems to attract a lot attention from the god boys. In the book of Aphrodite the diva, she develops a crush on Ares whom with she has an on and off relationship. Annoyingly her sister called Venus who resides in Rome takes all her boyfriends. The constant attention annoys her and she decides to try and transfer the attention to Athena through a makeover plan. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t work as expected because nobody pays attention when Aphrodite and her friends show off Athena. The only person who seemed to like her from the beginning was Hephaestus. Athena and Aphrodite later came to discover it was only because Ares wanted to have a city to be named after him. Just because Zeus the father of Athena was the principal; she could ask her father to name a city after Ares.

Artemis

In the book of Artemis the brave, she is described to valiant, loves animals and sports. She is the goddess girl of the hunt and the moon. She is generally the best professional archer in the academy alongside with her twin brother. Apollo her younger brother is ten minutes younger than Artemis. Artemis seems not to care anything that deals with fashion. She likes to wear a dark skinned, short red Chilton and loves carrying her silver arrow and bow. Artemis loves three dogs, Nectar, Suez and Amby. She has four deer white in colour which help pull her chariot. Zeus, Athena’s father never allowed Artemis to have other pets. She too had fell in love with Actaeon but her first crush was with a guy called Orion. She realized that the relationship with Orion would not work because he was selfish and only cared for himself. Actaeon is the lucky mortal boy because Artemis shares her first kiss with him, although on the check.

Artemis tries to persuade Zeus to allow girls to enter the Olympics matches and her plan works definitely well. Zeus decided to name the girls after Hera, his new wife.

The other characters were;

Apollo

He is referred to as the god boy of prophesies and who tells truth. He develops a crush on Cassandra. However, he cursed Cassandra because he was angry he did not have a temple. He could not manage to undo the curse he placed on Cassandra. The two had a common character; they could tell fortunes.

Ares

He is the god boy of war and is the most handsome in the academy according to Aphrodite. The two have an unstable relationship. The relationship is mostly off when he starts to see Athena. Aphrodite becomes jealous but later finds out that Arena only wanted Athena in favour for a city to be named after him.

Hades

He is regarded as a god boy of death. He makes Persephone to develop an interest in death. He had three headed dogs in underworld which were named Cerberus.

Hephaestus

He is a god boy who deals with metals works. Aphrodite seems not to like him because he is scrawny, clumsy and lame on both his legs. He used to have a crush on Aphrodite who seemed not. He has interest in another girl named Aglala. Despite Aphrodite not liking him, he helped to fix him up with Aglala.
