Grace Hamilton is a bestselling science fiction novelist who is best known for her EMP survival novels that have become very popular among fans of the genre.

She published “Dark Retreat,” the debut novel of the “EMP Lodge” series of novels in 2017. This would be the novel that made her name as it became a bestseller and spawned an entire series.

Hamilton now has more than fifty titles to her name all under the survivalist and EMP themes. She has also published at least two single-standing titles with Riley Miller.

Outside of her writing, Grace Hamilton is the pen name for a prepper who is also a survivalist and badass momma bear to four children and the wife of a wonderful husband. She got into the prepper lifestyle after she got stuck in a mountain cabin for nearly a week stranded after a flash flood.

Vowing to never feel so powerless again or have her kids ever lack something to eat, she decided to become a prepper. She now lives as a prepper and is confident that if the worst ever happens, she will be ready to prove and protect her family.

Combine that with a vivid imagination, a survivalist mentality, and a daydreaming habit and you get one of the best prepper fiction novelists ever. Much of the time, she can be found thinking of some of the worst survival situations people could find themselves in, as she throws her characters into nightmares they have to figure out.

She has said that it is her wish that her readers experience how to survive from the experiences and mistakes of her characters. She sometimes interacts with her fans and readers on her mailing list and her Facebook profile.

Grace Hamilton’s novel “Dark Retreat” is a thrilling work of fiction and the first of the “EMP Lodge” series of novels.

The novel is set in a world that has gone dark and in which trusting someone could be a double-edged sword. The work begins right after the world is shut down following an EMP attack.

For Megan Wolford, the biggest goal she has is to protect Caitlin her daughter at any cost. When Caitlin is infected by a mysterious illness, Megan will have to go out and look for supplies and this quest takes her to a remote lodge.

The last thing she needs is to get help from fellow survivors, given how much her trust has been betrayed in the recent past.

In the meantime, Wyatt Moris the former Navy SEAL does everything in his power to keep the family together following the tragic death of his father. When Megan trespasses on his land, he is very suspicious but there is no way he can turn away a sick child, even if the world has become very dangerous.
But then another stranger named Kyle arrives and they are all certainly very suspicious. Things become even more interesting when they find out that Megan’s daughter’s illness may be linked to Kylie.

In a race to find out the truth to save her daughter, they still need to have their wits around them as they live in a very dangerous world.

“Dark Hunt” is the fascinating second work of the “EMP Lodge” survivalist series of novels by Grace Hamilton that will have you enthralled from the first page to the last. This is a work that asks to what extent will a mother go to save her child from the many dangers of a new dark world.

Following an EMP attack, Megan Wolford finds herself living in the post-apocalyptic aftermath. Luckily, she managed to settle her family in a makeshift lodge headed by Morris, which promises a measure of safety.

Even though her feelings for the leader of the group Wyatt Morris have been growing, she always feels more secure when she is on her own. But when she becomes separated from Caitlin her daughter during a storm, she is afraid that she will lose the one thing that has kept her fighting for survival.

Desperate and injured, she will have to fight every instinct in herself and rely on others to help her, particularly when they learn that her daughter has been taken hostage. Will she be able to set aside her drive for independence and take the help offered by her community before it is too late?

Outside of her troubles, the group makes new alliances as another lone survivor who has some much-needed skills joins the Morris Clan. However, there are rumors of a ruthless and dangerous gang in the vicinity of their locality whom they may have to fight at some point.

Grace Hamilton’s “Dark Defiance” is a fitting third novel of the “EMP Lodge” series of novels that is a page-turner, much like the previous two.

Megan Wolford is now an integral member of the “Morris Clan,” which knows full well that having numbers could be the difference between death and life. However, you also need to have the right numbers and not just any numbers.

As for Megan, she has finally found a place for herself and her family, where they can finally live in relative safety. The Morris clan is small but they trust each other and Wyatt has been an expert at showing Megan how to once again love.

But winter is coming and they will all have to spend months in the lodge away from the elements. However, it is not only the harsh conditions they have to deal with as there are deadlier threats out there.

When a neighboring settlement comes under attack from ruthless raiders under a man named McDaniels, they reluctantly ally with the Morris Clan. But this means more people to trust and more mouths to feed. However, they need more people if they are to fight off the deadly band of raiders.

It is a work full of action and is much more about trying to take out the biggest threat rather than prepping which is common in similar works and even the ones in this series.
