Leslie Langtry is an American author of fiction. She currently resides along with her family in the Midwest. When she is not busy reading or writing or doing one of her many other hobbies, she is busy as a mother and she also actively volunteers with the Girl Scouts.
If dreams could come true, then Leslie wishes that she could invent a cake that is totally calorie free in the future so she could eat cake to her heart’s content. She says that even though she writes novels about certain things, she has never assassinated or killed someone so far as she knows, both on a professional as well as a recreational basis. Leslie lives with her family, which includes her husband Tom and her children. They live together in the Quad cities.
Leslie Langtry first became a published author in 2007 with the release of her first book in the Greatest Hits Mystery series. The first book did really well and she had something on her hands by then! More books came out in the series at a rate of nearly one a year. There are several more books in this exciting series, so check it out if you are looking for some fun new reading material!
The series is also called the Bombay Assassins series. Check out the first book in this series that shows you how that most of the time in life, you can’t always pick who your family is. Some people know this more in depth than most, like Gin. Sometimes you have to make the most of the hand that you were dealt.
Gin Bombay is the main character in this debut work. Even though her first name is admittedly inspired by an alcohol, Gin really likes dessert. What is her favorite out of all of the desserts out there? That would be the one that they call ‘death by chocolate’.
There is just something about having a decadent amount of chocolate all wrapped up into one luxurious dessert that is just inherently appealing. When it comes to craft projects and more, knitting needles can double than more than just craft tools.
Gin Bombay is a single mom that works hard to get everything that she has and take care of her child. Most people just see her as a regular mom that is just trying to provide for her kid. No one has any idea that she is an assassin and comes from a long ancestral line of them as well. Gin works hard to keep up the facade that she is actually a single mom that needs to make ends meet while raising her kid. She’s busy enough leading a Girl Scout troop that her young child is participating in and trying to keep those dates and obligations straight in her head.
On top of all that, if that were not enough, now Gin is going to have to take on the puppy. Those little things sure have a big appetite for the furniture and shoes and anything else that isn’t nailed down but is expensive. No one ever said that having a family life in the suburbs would be easy, and now she is finding that out for herself with every recurring mistake and mess that she has to clean up.
Naturally, one would assume that with such a cool name that Gin is actually an assassin. The reader may know this, but the neighbors and her colleagues certainly don’t. Gin is now back on the hunt and has a new target that it is her job to take out. It’s not like she chose this life; the job chose her. All of this is in her blood.
Usually Gin is the image of professionalism and works very hard to remain in the shadows. She wants the things that she does to be slick, and not obvious. She wants her work to be hidden and not out in some tawdry display that reveals her. That’s how you get busted, and Gin does not want to be caught or identified as participating in any of her various projects.
Usually the targets are left on their own and somewhat unattended. This time, the target is accompanied by a bodyguard. The security is not just any security, but a very hot Australian man that is just her type. It figures that someone this attractive would be in her way.
Still, Gin has no choice but to steam on ahead. This target has to be the same as any other one; There is also some added pressure in the fact that there’s currently a mole– and they could expose everything. Gin has to act fast if she wants to find out who is the double agent that’s leaking information out or the consequences could be all too much.
Even with a hot bodyguard around, Gin has to stick to all business. If she doesn’t focus now and figure this entire thing out, there is a pretty good chance that when it comes to the Bombay family’s list of targets, she is right up there at number one. What will happen with Gin and all of this mess? You have got to read this intriguing first novel in the series to find out!
In the second novel, we meet Dakota Bombay, a man that always liked to see a bit of a blond James Bond in himself. Although he may not be the exact image of the famous spy, it was a nice thing to think.Dakota’s life gets totally mixed up just like a shaken martini when his ornery grandmother wants him to come up with something for the family business.
To be precise, she wants him to craft a marketing plan. Which is no big deal except their business is assassination.Add on top of that finding out that he may be a father, and Dakota’s life is getting seriously less chill by the second. When he meets a funeral director, it may be love at sight. But can they kiss before rival assassins tear each other apart? Read this book to find out!
