Gwynne Forster
Gwynne Forster was born in North Carolina and she grew up in Washington, D.C. She lived, worked, and studied in New York City from the time she came of voting age.
Gwynne considers herself a humanitarian, something she inherited from her mom, a high school principal, and which she attributes to her education and work in the social sciences, more specifically, her work in demography. She is widely published as a demographer.
Gwynne served for four years as chairperson of the International Programme Committee of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (London, England). She was once a chief of (non-medical) research in family planning and fertility in the Population Division of the United Nations in New York. Both of the positions took her on official business to sixty-three developing and developed countries.
She holds masters and bachelors degrees in sociology as well as a master’s in economics/demography and some additional graduate credits in journalist.
Gwynne enjoys opera, classical music, blues, and jazz with her husband. She enjoys singing with her church choir, is a museum hopper, loves entertaining people, avid gardener, and gourmet cook.
Gwynne’s debut novel, called “Sealed with a Kiss”, was released in the year 1995. Her work is from the romance genre.
“Once in a Lifetime” is the first novel in the “Harringtons” series and was released in the year 2002. This novel stars Alexis Stevenson and Telford Harrington. Alexis Stevenson, who is recently divorced and with a young daughter to support, jumps on the opportunity to become the household manager for Telford Harrington, a wealthy businessman, as well as his two brothers. She knows that it isn’t going to be easy turning their bachelor pad into a home, she is bound and determined to handle all of the obstacles, as she maintains separate life for herself and her kid.
Alexis isn’t all that ready for the red-hot chemistry that crackles between Telford and her. Or the fact that she is all of a sudden caught in a maze of deep mistrust and unexpected secrets. If she and Telford are able to navigate their way through it, together, will they both embrace the love that they so deeply desire?
This novel offers some fantastic characters, with their own voices. It is a cute story with all the makings of a nice romance novel.
“After the Loving” is the second novel in the “Harringtons” series and was released in the year 2005. This novel stars Velma Brighton and Russ Harrington. Velma Brighton, a full-figured caterer, is always comparing herself to Alexis, her thinner and beautiful sister, who appears to have it all. Alexis’ wedding day comes and Velma’s insecurity kicks into overdrive when she puts on a formfitting maid-of-honor gown that shows all her curves. Even worse, the guy that makes her heart race is going to be escorting her down the aisle. How is he going to react to her very shapely physique?
Tough, rugged, and a loner, Russ Harrington is the dream of every woman. Velma is exactly his type of woman. He fell for her, gorgeous curves and all. He has got little patience with her lacking self-esteem. Russ, setting aside all his concerns, pursues Velma. Until she attempts undergoing a total makeover. Velma’s attempt to attract Russ might cause her to lose the very thing she wanted most. His love.
All of Gwynne’s characters have integrity and mystery to them, and this one is no exception. The novel is a good read that bring back some verbal discourse from another era.
“Love Me or Leave Me” is the third novel in the “Harringtons” series and was released in the year 2005. This novel stars Pamela Langford and Drake Harrington. Drake Harrington, an engineer, has spent quite a few years living in his older brothers’ shadow. His extraordinary good looks have gained him a reputation as a ladies’ man, however Drake’s true goal is to make his mark on the family business.
When he meets Pamela Langford, a television news anchor, he gives in to his attraction. Even though he is reluctant to settle down until he realizes his own career ambitions, Pamela is uninterested in playing the waiting game.
Taking a business trip to Accra, Ghana, might confirm Pamela’s fears about Drake’s inability to commit or to help him recognize a once-in-a-lifetime love.
Pamela and Drake have a great love story here, while they maintain their integrity and character over the course of the novel, never once lowering their standards. There is no casual sex, unfaithfulness, dishonesty, and drugs, and the like, making this a bit of an old fashioned read, something some readers enjoyed.
“Love Me Tonight” is the fourth novel in the “Harringtons” series and was released in the year 2010. This novel stars Judson Phillips and Heather Tatum. A Man on a Mission.
Judson Phillips, while his adoptive parents were still alive, never attempted to find out where he came from. Now he is determined to find his roots, and falling for Heather Tatum, a diplomat and a woman he can imagine making a new life with, is one more reason he should dive into his past. However Judson, a good looking lawyer accustomed to success, strikes out on both fronts: his search has gone nowhere, and Heater, who watched her parents be unhappy as they were married to each other, has got no intentions of settling down.
Heather has put her job first in order to avoid heartache. However, when Judson learns about his ties to the Harringtons, she gets a glimpse of the type of loving family that she has always craved. However, taking a chance means risking everything their sudden and sweet passion has brought them and trusting them that tonight is only the start.
Gwynne tells a magnificent story about love and family, and filling the novel with real life situations. Fans enjoyed catching up with the Harrington family in the novel, and hope to head back to this world soon with the next novel. Readers loved seeing Judson become content once he realized where he comes from.
