Hannah Jayne

Largely writing Young Adult mystery novels with a paranormal twist to them, the American author Hannah Jayne has been making a lot of progress in recent years. Reaching a worldwide audience, she really knows and understands her audience, speaking in a direct manner that really resonates with them. This has allowed her to explore a huge number of ideas and concepts in her work, as she not only entertains them, but provides a message as well.

Branching into the realms of urban fantasy too, she gives her work a sense of authenticity that keeps it constantly grounded throughout. Coupled with this is her vastly expansive imagination which really makes the most of each and every premise she uses in her stories. Building upon this, she continues to put out work regularly, constantly developing both her and her voice as a writer.

Early and Personal Life:

Born in America, Hannah Jayne knew from an early age what it was that she wanted to do, and that was to write. Writing during the second grade, she would write a twelve page story that really unlocked her creativity, feeding her a passion that would be lifelong. Continuing to hone her craft throughout the years, this would carry on, as she became a highly adept author, creating entire worlds within her stories.

Writing her first story in school, she would go on to become a passionate reader too, always showing a clear love of literature. Then, some twenty years later, she would turn her hand back to writing, getting back into the craft fully after a number of years. This would lead her to write in an extremely honest and direct manner, putting herself forwards in an intimate and personal style.

Putting everything into her writing, Jayne would really invest herself in what it was that she wanted to say as an author. This would see her begin a family and deal with her daily life, something that could also be seen reflected in her work. Honest, her novels would become something different, using the conventions of the genre to take them to new and exciting places.

Continuing to write to this day still, she currently lives in Silicone Valley, along with her English teacher husband. Teaching during the summer at the Teen Writer’s Institute, she lives with her daughter as well, along with teaching courses online too. Not stopping any time soon, she has a lot more to come yet, as more and more continue to discover her work every day.

Writing Career:

Starting out back in 2011, Hannah Jayne would begin her writing career with the first book in her highly popular series ‘Underworld Detective Agency’. Releasing ‘Under Wraps’ that year, she would also see published her stand-alone novel ‘Rebound Guy’, which focused more on contemporary romance. Showing herself to be a highly versatile author, she quickly gained a following with readers from all over coming to appreciate her work.

It was the Underworld Detective Agency, or UDA, that Jayne would become best known for, with its fun mix of supernatural and mystery. Following a colorful cast of characters, it would generate a loyal reader base, as it constantly kept the audience guessing throughout. There would be sixth full novels in the franchise, with a spin-off from the fourth titled ‘High Stakes’ published in the ‘Predatory’ collection in 2013, which featured many different authors.

Employing a witty and fun style, Jayne would manage to establish an engaging tone in her novels, one that many have taken to. Bringing many different genres together, she would also use a variety of ideas in her stories too, showing a lot of imagination and intelligence in her work. Putting a lot of her own life into her work as well, her books come from a genuine place, which is part of what makes them resonate so effectively.

Receiving a lot of acclaim over the course of her career, she’s come a long way in a relatively short amount of time. Appreciated by both the critics and the general public alike, she’s become a big household name for many. A bestseller on an international level, she’ll carry on into the foreseeable future.

Under the Gun

Navigating the office politics, she’s also go to deal with the fallen angel Alex, and her passions for him, as things begin to heat up. On top of all that it now seems the investigation is coming to a head, as the deepest darkest secrets of the Agency are soon to be revealed. Will she be able to deal with the killer werewolves? Can she work to solve the investigation? What will happen under the gun?
