An American novelist, Heather C. Myers is well known for writing romance novels, with many of her books being aimed at a Young Adult audience too. Gifted in the art of suspense as well, she really knows and understands how to grab the reader from the outset and not let go. She’s a talented writer with a lot to say, making the most of the genre while taking it in new and interesting directions. Delivering her material in a straightforward and direct manner, she has an easy-going nature that has appealed to readers from around the world.
With a clear gift for writing, she really sets herself apart from other writers within her field, creating something quite different in the process. Letting her work essentially speak for itself, she understands the reader and what they want, all while saying what she wants to say. Using a voice and tone that is very much her own, she has become a household name for many, with readers returning to her work time and time again. Having fun with many of her stories, too, she definitely has a sense of humor as well, as she exudes wit and warmth from the page.
Creating long-lasting characters, too, the personalities that she sets up really do come to life, almost speaking directly to the reader. Building a feeling of familiarity with her audience, she allows them to establish a real sense of rapport with each of her protagonists too. Feeling fully three-dimensional, they all come to life, allowing the reader to really invest themselves in them and their various different relationships. There’s so much more to come, too, as her writing career carries on growing, with plenty more novels planned for publication on the horizon.
Early and Personal Life
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Heather C. Myers grew up with a keen interest in both reading and writing. Developing her love of the craft from early on, she would devote much of her time to literature, refining and honing her voice. This passion of hers would continue throughout the years, allowing her to essentially become that novelist that she is today.
Attending college, she would soon come to find her own approach to writing romance, which was her primary focus as a genre. Always looking out for exciting new ideas, she would draw inspiration from the world around her, putting it all back into her work. Currently writing to this very day, she continues to put out regularly, living with her partner and his two sons near Disneyland.
Writing Career
The first book that Heather C. Myers would release was the novel ‘Corsets and Crossbones,’ which she published in 2015. This title would be the third book in an already pre-existing series called ‘Swashbuckling Romance,’ which would be a collection of romance novels. Following this, she went on to publish a number of other series, such as the ‘Neverland Trilogy,’ ‘Somerset,’ and ‘Austin and Cufflinks,’ to name just a few.
Often combining romance and fantasy, she would become well known for he imaginative sense of scope and scale. She also wrote under the pen-name of Isadora Brown, which she’d also use as a co-writer for many of her books too. Becoming a bestselling author, she’d reach the top of the USA Today bestseller lists on numerous occasions, with both the critics and the general public enjoying her work.
A Diagnosis Dark and Deadly
Initially published on the 2nd of July, this would first come out in 2017, as it marked the fourth title in the ‘Dark and Deadly’ series. Released on the Kindle platform, it would feature an engaging self-contained romance, with the series itself being thematically linked. There are some great dark twists along the way, and it really works in what is an extremely easy book to simply pick up and enjoy.
Breaking up with her abusive boyfriend, Olivia Goodson goes on to sleep with her boss shortly after, despite not believing herself to be that way inclined. Even though she initially dislikes him personally, she finds Mason Hadley, one of Boulder Grace Hospital’s top diagnosticians, to be one of the best lovers she’s ever had. That’s when feelings begin to get in the way, as she finds that she is attracted to him and likes him, something she’s been feeling ever since the breakup with her boyfriend. Will the two of them manage their differences and get together, can Olivia get past her previous boyfriend, and what will become of a diagnosis dark and deadly?
Featuring an ex returning from the past to give things a real air of suspense, too, this book has everything to offer the reader. An entertaining novel with a fun and compelling narrative, it really captures the attention of its audience right from the outset. Featuring both romance and suspense, it’s a thrilling ride from start to finish, as the audience roots for its central relationship all the way.
Rookies Hit It Better
First published on the 30th of August in 2021, this would be the third book in the ‘Minor League Mayhem’ series of novels. Following on from each other thematically, they largely revolve around professional hockey league players and their romantic lives. Each book features a self-contained romance, with a different player having a relationship, showing the obstacles they must overcome. Hockey is a sport Myers herself is interested in, and it clearly shows here, in what is an authentic portrayal of the game, as well as being an entertaining romance novel.
Having always been close friends with Beth since kindergarten, Knox relies on her in times of need, whether it’s bailing him out after a prank goes wrong or simply making her laugh. Playing hockey professionally for his hometown, he gets to spend his free time with Beth, and he’s always seen her as just a friend. That is until he realizes that his best friend and Beth have an attraction towards one another, as Knox begins to have a problem with this. Can he let Beth know how he really feels, who will end up with who, and what eventually happens when rookies hit it better?
