Author Heather Woodhaven earned her pilot’s license, assisted an engineer with a medical laser in a Haitian mission, lived through an accidental detour onto a black diamond ski trail in the Aspens, rode in a hot air balloon over the safari lands of Kenya, and snorkeled among sting rays before she became a mom of three and wife of one.

“The Secret Life of Book Club” is the first novel in the “Best Ever Book Club” series and was released in the year 2014. Jeanine Phelps comes face to face with reality when her husband finally admits that they are only living in survival mode. She cannot stand to read another book about these other women that live their life to the fullest so she challenges her book club to live like the heroines in the books they love.

Seizing the day is just pure fun while the romantic sparks fly until the challenge generates an upset in all of their lives: Jeanine’s husband has gotten so inspired by her new vitality that it triggers a bizarre mid-life crisis that involves tacos.
Kate, a teacher and a single mom, cannot figure out if the rekindled friendship with the new museum curator is worth the romantic risk. Paula, the model PTA soccer mom, gets drawn back to her secret passion. Anne, the mom of four babies, works on holding the book club together as she also attempts to figure her own identity out.

Could becoming the heroines in their own lives be worth the challenge?

Each of these ladies and their lives are likable and enjoyable to read about. Fans of the book were caught up in the novel and hung on every word they read. The relationships from spouses to work to friendship to be rather realistic and spot on.

“Calculated Risk” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2015. Clandestine cover up. “Countdown” is the second stand alone novel and was released in the year 2016. Borrowed Time. Rachel Cooper witnesses her neighbor’s young twin sons getting kidnapped, and she springs right into action in order to save them. However now these thwarted kidnappers are after her, and her one hope for survival is relying on James McGuire, their widowed single dad.

A weapon has been planted on a satellite that James’ company is just about ready to launch, and being the systems specialist, it is his job to stop it. However somebody is dead set on keeping James from preventing the scheduled takeoff. And they will use anybody that is close to him as leverage. Now he has to figure out a way to protect both of his boys and the woman that he is starting to fall for, before the final countdown can start.

“Texas Takedown” is the third stand alone novel and was released in the year 2017. Lethal sabotage. Isabelle Barrows, a marine biologist presents her research findings at an oceanology conference and it should be her big break. Until she spots these two men chasing her. With these shadowy assailants on her tail, the least of her concerns at the moment should be impressing possible investors. Particularly when the guys chase her right into the arms of her high school crush.

“Tracking Secrets” is the third stand alone novel and was released in the year 2017. Caught right in the crosshairs.
