Heidi Kimball is a regency romance author that has been known for writing some innovative retellings of popular works of fiction.

From a very young age, Heidi trained in the art of hiding so that she could avoid doing her chores and get to read. She still loves to hide with a book even though she is now a married woman with three children in tow.

She has a lifelong love for M&Ms and peanut butter, all things fall, and any fiction work which would serve as an escape from the banality of everyday life.
Heidi’s first-ever novel was her contribution to the “Regency House Party” series in which she published the novel “An Unlikely Courtship.” She kicked on from there and now has more than half a dozen titles to her name and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

She currently makes her home in a suburb of Dallas and is still enjoying the roller coaster of being a published author.

While writing is the thing she most enjoys in the world, she has several hobbies she indulges in. When she is not writing, she can be found traveling eating, taking long walks, and spending time with her husband and their three children.

Similar to her contemporaries, Heidi Kimball has always loved reading. As a child and in her teens, her mother loved to encourage her to finish her chores by taking her books away.

However, she never could find time to read when she became a mother. It would not be until her husband enrolled in business school that she finally had some time to herself.

Once she put the kids to bed at night, she began devouring all manner of fiction works. She still remembers the day she read one novel halfway through and then set it down and thought she could do better.

It was not long before she realized there was much more to writing and got to learn all about writing and publishing. Kimball’s very first novel was a young adult dystopian work.

However, she penned that manuscript long before she had studied much about writing. As such, the work will likely never be published.
Once she was published she gravitated more toward regency romances even though she has also dabbled in fairy fantasy retellings that have also been very popular.

Heidi Kimball’s novel “Where the Stars Meet the Sea” is the story of Juliet Graham.

At the opening of the novel, she is counting down the weeks before she turns 21.

When she turns legal she can claim the huge inheritance and guardianship of her younger brother and be able to have all the freedom in the world. But until that day comes, she will have to endure the domineering will of Agnes her great aunt.

When she has to accompany her family to Shaldorn Castle where she has been invited to a house party, her only goal is to keep to herself. Her plans are thrown into disarray when she meets a boorish stranger that causes an untold stirring of emotions.

Upended, she insults the man as she loses her temper. Turns out the boorish man is the Duke of Halstead who is her host. She expects that the man will turn her out of his house but is surprised when the callous and brusque man seems to have a high interest in her.

In her unguarded moments, she finds herself drawn to the man. This is something she cannot explain as he is not her type. He shuns all rules of society and over several weeks they develop a very deep connection.

But then her evil aunt issues an ultimatum that may threaten everything she had ever hoped for.

“Heart in the Highlands” by Heidi Kimball is an intriguing romance that tells the love story of two people who could not have been any more different.
The Duke of Edinbane is a man named Callum Darrington. He never imagined that he would ever have to be subjected to an arranged marriage. However, his father tells him that his uncle’s family is under the threat of being ruined and he steps in to save them by being betrothed to a stranger.

But the thing is Lady Katherine is a lovely lady and nothing like he thought she would be. He believes the wedding is a herald for better things to come until he learns that his father had all along been deceiving him.

Callum is angry and lashing out sets in motion a heartbreak no one could ever have expected from him.

Six years later, Callum is ready to repair the marriage he had so callously thrown away. But in the preceding years, Kate has become a hardened woman. She is no longer the young, trusting naive woman she used to be.

She does not intend to let Callumback into her heart and life. Despite being so cold, Callum works to rebuild their marriage. What he does not know is that she has kept a secret that could destroy everything.

Heidi Kimball’s novel “A Guarded Heart” introduces Eleanor Hayward. It has been four years since her family was destroyed by a shocking scandal forcing her into isolation.

But now she has the opportunity of banishing the painful history of her past and looking forward with hope. However, reentering society after so much time has never been easy.

Stepping onto the threshold of her cousin’s party, she meets the man that had broken her heart more than three years earlier.

Edmund Fletcher believed the past was in the past until he met the woman that had very nearly become his wife. He is just about to propose to another woman and knows the right thing to do was to suppress the connection he has with Eleanor.

Soon enough, the scandal that had blown everything apart years earlier is brought to the fore leaving them reeling. They are tormented thinking about what they could have had but they could never rewrite history.

Does a future exist where they might both find true love and happiness?
