Heidi Rice is a bestselling romance fiction author from London, England where she lives with her husband and two kids.

Rice grew up in London as a tomboy and in her teenage years, all she wanted was to get married to Paul Newman.

This was quite weird since the man was about 50 while she was just 13 at the time. Moreover, he was also married to Joanne Woodward and would likely never be available.

She would ultimately get over these silly teenage dreams and would go on to become a published author.

What is surprising though is that Rice never knew if romance fiction writing was going to be her career. As such, it took a very long time before she embraced the idea of herself as a fiction author.

In her late teenage years, Heidi Rice made the decision to pursue a career as an actress.

Nonetheless, things did not turn out as she expected as she was overwhelmed with a fit of giggles during a school play, which led to her blacklisting by the drama department.

Rice would then head to Warwick University where she undertook studies in Comparative American studies. Upon graduating, she started working as a film director in Houston.

It was a great experience but it was at this time that she learned that film directing was hard work and that her colleagues were insane people.

Soon after that, she got a job working as a sub-editor for “The Daily Mail” and soon enough, she was working as a freelance film reviewer.

This is what she would do for the best part of more than a decade before she thought she wanted to do something different.

Over the years that she had been thinking of becoming an author a lot of things had been going on in her head. As such, when she decided to put pen to paper she had all manner of plot lines and characters ready to go.

Heidi Rice published “Bedded by a Bad” her debut novel in 2007 and kicked on from there to pen “The Mile” the RITA Award finalist in the same year.

She now has more than 50 works to her name across novellas, and novels and has also contributed to series by other authors.

She has said that she loves being a writer as she just has to sit at her computer and get swept up in the world of glamorous locations, high emotions, sexy tortured men, sensual excitement, and funny feisty women.

Rice currently lives in London with her bickering boys and a wonderful husband who is always supportive of her work. While she loves living in the United Kingdom, she also loves traveling to the United States with Catri her best friend.
Every two years or so, they usually leave the UK, their children, and their husbands and head to the States for several weeks just like Thelma and Louise.

Some of their favorite haunts have been New Orleans the Big Easy, Monument Valley, Marfa in Texas, North Carolina’s Nantahala Forest, and Maryland’s St. Michaels.

Heidi Rice’s novel “Surf, Sea, and a Sexy Stranger” is the story of lifeguard Maddy Westmore who has to rescue a drowning man. The gorgeous and very sexy man is Ryan King a millionaire entrepreneur who prefers to remain anonymous.

Ever since he was in a motorcycle accident that left him impotent and with a bad knee, he has become something of a recluse. He remains aloof with Maddy even after she pulls him out of the water.

For the most part, this is because of embarrassment, even though he is also very turned on by her. She insists on checking up on him later,. which ultimately results in a mad night of passion.

Maddy comes from a murky family background as she has been used by several men and was wounded when her father had a sordid affair behind her mother’s back. She does not believe that she fell so easily to Ryan’s charms.

On his part, he cannot believe that he was able to perform. They decide to become friends with benefits given their issues but it is clear that none of them want that.

Heidi Rice’s “Cupcakes and Killer Heels” is the story of a baker named Ruby, who runs the baking shop that she co-owns with her best friend. She is the type of girl that has a tendency to flirt and has no apologies about it.
However, she is just coming from a particularly painful breakup and has vowed not to get into any relationships for some time.

At the opening of the story, Callum just crashed his car into Ruby’s, resulting in a huge altercation that causes her to miss an important business meeting.

Seeking to make it up to her, Callum pursues and she agrees to a date and they spent a full day and night together. He asks her to travel down with him to attend a birthday party for one of his nieces even though he does not care for the occasion one bit.
Things have been going well between Callum and Ruby as they have both agreed to have a short-term thing with no seriousness or promises. Still, it is obvious that they have a strong connection and belong together.

Unfortunately, they have a lot of issues and baggage from their childhood which makes them unable to see past their pain and what they could have together.

Heidi Rice’s novel “The Good, the Bad, and the Wild” is the beautiful romance story of Nick and Eva. At the beginning of the story, she is waiting for Nick to arrive so that they can talk about work.

She works for an ancestry research company and her investigations have shown that Nick is the progeny of a very influential man.

She had prepared an elaborate introduction but everything flies out the window the moment they set eyes on each other. He is intrigued by her and they end up spending the night together.

However, he throws her out the next morning as he believes she had been duplicitous in setting up the meeting. Eva is heartbroken and humiliated and things only get worse when she gets fried for cavorting with a client.
Several weeks later, she is informed that Nick wants to go to Italy to meet his grandpa but only on the condition that she accompanies him.

Nick does not seem interested in getting to know his grandfather or he could be lying to himself, but what he does know is that he badly wants Eva.
