Helen Scheuerer is a young adult fantasy author from Sydney Australia who is best known for the “Oremere Chronicles” series of novels.

She published “Heart of Mist” her debut novel in 2017 and this would spawn the “Oremere Chronicles” which would become her most popular to date.

These are novels that explore themes of responsibility, identity, loss, belonging, addition, and loyalty.

Scheuerer has now published at least a dozen novels to her name across at least three series in addition to contributing to the “Mortal Enemies to Monster Lovers” series of novels.

Aside from her writing, she is also the founder and editor of an online learning platform and literary magazine for emerging writers “Writer’s Edit.”It has now become one of the most prominent platforms for authors right across the world.
Her love for books and writing would ultimately lead her toward pursuing a major in creative writing at the University of Wollongong, where she got a bachelor’s degree in creative arts.
She would also graduate from the University of Sydney with a Master of Publishing degree.

Helen Sheuerer currently makes a living as a freelance editor and writer.

Just like many novelists, Helen Scheuerer had always loved writing right from when she was a child. Aged just seven years, she penned her first story about a kitten and a clown that was working in a circus.

The story is probably still around somewhere in one of her drawers. Scheuerer also loved reading and as a child, she loved to read Harry Potter and can still remember lining up at 7 am at the bookstore whenever a new one came out.
The good thing was that her mother understood the importance of books and often excused her from chores and family commitments whenever one came out.

When she began writing, she began penning literary fiction since she had done a creative writing degree she took a lot of pride in writing literary fiction, which she believed was the center of all literature.

Helen Scheuerer was first inspired to pen her novel when she was doing some very difficult edits on a literary fiction manuscript. But then she found some thought-provoking and thrilling fantasy fiction works which she got hooked on.
Obsessed with the genre and the novels, she finally had a lightbulb moment and thought why not write what she loved reading?

In that year’s NaNoWriMo, she raced through a draft writing 45,000 words that would become her debut novel “Heart of Mist.”

Outside of her writing and editing endeavors, she loves to read fantasy fiction novels. After the stress of her writing and editing days, she finds diving into the world of intrigue and magic to be a breath of fresh air.
Apart from that, she is lucky that she makes her home in New Zealand, and hence when she is not writing, she can often be found in the outdoors.

She particularly loves snowboarding and while she is not so good at it, she finds the hobby very invigorating and she usually comes back to the office rejuvenated and ready to continue or begin a new project.

Helen Scheuerer’s novel “Heart of Mist,” tells the story of a young woman named Bleak who resorts to alcohol to deaden the things she sees and the sounds of voices she hears in her mind.

She is now all alone with no one to trust and no one to lean on after losing everything twice in her life. It is a dark and dangerous secret that if it got out could get her killed, as many people want it for the power they will get from it.
While it is dangerous, she cannot find a solution to save her future, her sanity let alone her life. She had been brought up in a land where the Ashai who are her kind are feared and put to death as magic is forbidden.
Whenever an Ashai is found, she will usually be killed in “The Mist” found on the outskirts of the land.

There is one ruler she is sure will chase her down and seek her out like a criminal as he needs a piece of her soul, even though the warrior faction Valia Kindred has laid their claim on her.
Bleak will soon realize that she will have to depend on herself and that not everything is as it seems, as few can be trusted and deception can come from just any quarter.

“Reign of Mist” by Helen Scheuerer continues to follow the life and times of Bleak, a young woman who lost everything. She is now all alone with an overwhelming load she has to carry and running from a rebel warrior faction and the King.
The magic that was supposed to be a gift has now become a curse.

The good thing is that she has found allies who are just like her and is now on a mission to save the land from the plans of the evil King who had hunted down her friends to all corners of the globe.
As part of a motley crew of rebels determined to survive, she will soon learn many secrets about her past, including a false queen who could not be more evil and that there were many Ashais who played for their enemies.
New and old characters add a lot of chaos as new scenarios test the bonds of trust, loyalty, and blood.

With strong characters and non-stop action, this is an epic follow-up leading to an explosive showdown between evil and good as it leads to the third of the series.

In Helen Scheuerer’s novel “War of Mist,” everything comes to a head as Bleak’s heritage becomes known. She learns that beneath all the treachery, the lies, and the quest to save the world was her destiny.
The big question is can she avoid Ines the wicked queen who is determined to get her?

What she needs to do is scour the realm to find the one thing that could save all of them. But it is a treacherous search that will test her endurance to the limits.
Amid the lies, secrets, and intricacies of battle, Bleak and her friends will learn how far they are prepared to go to save the people they love.

As some powerful and dangerous forces jostle for power, allies, friends, and families unite in one final stand.

It is a breathtaking and heart-wrenching work with explosive revelations that will keep you on the edge of your seat with its heart and flare.
