Hot Damned by Robyn Peterman

Author Robyn Peterman writes the “Hot Damned” series of paranormal romance novels. The series began publication with “Fashionably Dead” which was released in the year 2013.

The series stars a woman named Astrid, who was turned into a vampyre without her permission. This comes after she tries to quit smoking without putting on any weight after. She is obsessed with Prada. The third book focuses on a woman named Dixie.

“Fashionably Dead” is the first novel in the “Hot Damned” series, which was released in the year 2013. Vampyres are not at all real. They just do not exist. At least Astrid didn’t believe they did until she attempted to stop smoking and wound up Undead. It makes her wonder who she screwed over in another life that her becoming healthy is the same as dead. Now Astrid is a Vampyre. They exist whether they would like to or not. She has to admit to the fact that the perks are not really that bad. Her girls jiggle no more, and her bum is higher now, and she keeps getting the latest Prada into her wardrobe.

The downside is that she is stuck with a Guardian Angel with a foul mouth that looks like Oprah and she has a Fairy Fighting Coach that instructs her to annihilate like a Terminator. To make things worse, her libido has ramped up to Vampyric proportions. Her attraction to a very hot rogue Vampyre is not just dangerous, it might just be deadly. Actual dead.

Permanent death is not something that is on her agenda. Only avoiding him is. It is easier said than done, though, because he believes Astrid is his. As if that is not enough for her to deal with, all of the other Vampyres believe she is some kind of Chosen One. If Astrid is the one in charge of saving the entire race of blood suckers, these Undead are in for a hell of a ride.

Astrid is a likable character, as she is fearless, a real friend, intelligent, and is able to speak her mind like no other. Robyn Peterman is excellent at injecting tons of humor into her stories, as well as some steamy scenes, too. The book is a lot of fun and is a roller coaster ride of a read. The book has a clever plot, an even pace, and some great supporting characters.

“Fashionably Dead Down Under” is the second novel in the “Hot Damned” series, which was released in the year 2014. Welcome to literal hell. This is the Hell where the Prince of Darkness is more gorgeous than Hades, the Seven Deadly Sins cannot get off of Facebook, and Hell Hounds smell just like brownies. The soundtrack here in the Underworld is Journey. No, for real.

Astrid should have realized that nothing good could have come from killing her parents in the span of just twenty minutes. Even though they were evil and psychotic. She finds out only now that her family tree has just about every mythological being and deity alive. At the same time, Ethan (her one and only true love in her Undead life) has only a short amount of time down under before he turns to dust.

In this land of Sin, Astrid thought she would at least get some nookie with her guy, but that didn’t happen. Baby Demons, grandparents, and cousins all kiboshed that plan. Blue balls have become the new normal down here. What must a half-Vampyre and half-Demon do so they can catch a break, anyway?

Apparently find some sword, make sure Mr. Rogers keeps his hands to himself during poker with the Devil, and calm Mother Nature and her unmedicated mood swings. Astrid has just three days to do it all. By everything that is unholy, she believed that Ethan’s Vampyre family was nuts. They have nothing, nothing at all, on the Demons.

Just like the first book, this one is hilarious. Robyn Peterman is a great author, and this book really shows this off. The book has a fast pace, and it is one that will keep you up through the night trying to finish it. The whole series is excellent, and readers cannot wait to get started on more books from the series.

“Hell on Heels” is the third novel in the “Hot Damned” series, which was released in the year 2014. Eden, Kentucky. A place where nothing is quite as it appears to be. Her name is Dixie. She is a Demon, a rather lousy one. She is a twenty-one year old virgin and she has a boyfriend that comes with batteries. She has magic, but it is iffy at the best of times and plain dangerous at its worst. Leaving Hell so she can represent her race is not all that high on her to do list.

Hell was simple and exact. All she would like to do is get to home base with a super hot Demon from her dreams and get to work on her dark side so that her father, Satan, gets off of her case.

Instead, she winds up in Kentucky on a quest to find the Balance of Chaos, discovering that her invisible friend is a destructive weather pattern with silver skin, and avoiding going to pole dancing classes with Mother Nature.

If that weren’t bad enough, the Sword of Death has gone missing once more, and whoever has possession of it wants to kill the King of the Underworld.

Dixie’s got new powers showing up all the time, keeping her horniness, her Demon side, and just general disgust under lock and key is not making it easier to blend in with humans. Her priorities are right in line: save the world, get laid, try to make sure kitchen appliances don’t blow up, and have more sex. She is ready to rumble.

All Dixie wants to do is go right back to Hell, but the balance of evil and good is in her hands, so she is stuck in the garden of Eden. Somebody’s got to save the world before there isn’t a world left to save. It might as well be Dixie. What the hell, right?
