Irene Hannon is a bestselling and award-winning author who writes romantic suspense novels and inspirational romance. She held a communications position in a fortune 500 company before devoting to full time writing. Her various works have received multiple awards. Her books have received a huge public acclaim. The books have been described as fine-tuned suspense, superbly written with well-crafted plot and intricately developed characters. She mainly focuses on inspirational romance and has helped many readers on crucial topics of forgiveness, healing and faith.

How she started her writing career

Irene took the publishing world by storm at a tender age of 10, this was through a sparkling piece of fiction that received a huge national attention. This was with a complete-the-story contest steered by a national children’s magazine. She became an honorees in this contest and likes to think of this as her official fictional writing debut. Since then she has written more romantic suspense and contemporary romance/women’s fictional novels that amount to more than 50 in number.

Education

Irene Hannon holds a bachelor in Psychology from St. Louis University. She also holds an M.A in journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She juggled two careers for many years until she gave up her position as an executive corporate communications positions. She gave up this position with a fortune 500 company before venturing fully into writing. She is generally happy about this decision and has no regrets.

Awards.

Hannon has won the Rita award seven times and three times in the inspirational novels category. The first novel to receive this award was Never Say Goodbye written in 2003, In Harm’s way written in 2011 and Deceived written in the year 2015 garnered her these awards. She is one in only 16 romance authors that received the title Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame. Her books have also won several awards that include two Carol awards, a Daphne du Maurier award, three HOLT Medallions and a National Readers’ Choice award. One of her novels was also mentioned by Booklist as the top inspirational fictional books of 2011. Additionally, she is a two-time Christy award finalist and a winner of two Booksellers’ Best Awards.

Hobbies and other activities

In her spare time, Hannon enjoys cooking, singing and gardening. A trained vocalist, she has sung the leading role in various musicals such as the South Pacific and The King and I. She is also a soloist at her church. When not otherwise occupied, Irene stays with her husband and together they enjoy traveling. Saturday mornings find her at their favorite coffee shop spending time with her family. She happily stays with her family in Missouri.

Never say Goodbye

Never say Goodbye is an early book by Irene Hannon. Dated back in 2003, the book is about a family that is on its way to crumble due to having their priorities misplaced. The man of the family feels a great weight of responsibility. He is also caught in the worries of trying give his loved ones the best. At the same time, he keeps them from the thing that they want most. The cycle takes a major twist when a stranger and his four-year daughter die. This brings in many years with pain. Ultimately, the only thing that could rescue him is God’s mercy that should bring in some healing. But what steps does he take from there? From time to time Scott seems rather imperfect. However, he tries to good when he seeks honor from God through his actions and thoughts. He is happy to have the support of his community. Unfortunately, after the tragedy, his wife denies herself the love of her husband and God’s love. She wrongly surrounds herself with friends that are bitter. Scott, her husband must save her in her mystery.

This RITA award winning novel is will make a great novel for those that have experienced disappointment or loss with God. It is also a interesting love story as love is found in the disappointments and in the hard times. It is simply the best moving books you will ever come across. It will speak to you in different ways, this is by the compassion you allow yourself to feel when someone has to accept the forgiveness that should be offered and required by God. Anyone that has faced adversity at some point in their lives will find this book helpful.

Deceived

Deceived is a 2015 book that centers a story on Kate Marshall. Having lost her husband and her child, she has been mourning their death for three years. She lost the two of them in a boating accident. However, when she spots a familiar-looking child, she is convinced that this is her son. With the police skeptical of her story, she finds help with a private investigator Connor Sullivan. The former secret service agent digs into the case, the boating accident takes a new turn as it becomes increasingly suspicious. However if Kate’s son is alive, someone has the intent of keeping him hidden. They may go to lethal lengths to have this sinister secret protected.

Readers will especially love the suspense aspect of the novel. The book is also a 2015 Rita award with interesting twists. For most of the time, the villain in this book does not seem that bad. It is only later that his dark side is revealed. The story generally has a different feel from other suspense books you will come across, you may therefore like this for a good change.

Overall, you will read and really enjoy all of Irene Hannon’s romantic and inspirational novels. The characters are wonderful and you will love how they interact with each other. Hannon’s books are simply entertaining and inspirational, they are highly recommended for anyone of any age. By reading a few titles, you will love her books and will be looking forward for her next releases. The novels will be very inspirational for anyone going through a difficult phase in their lives. Most of the books will speak of forgiveness, healing and faith which are all needed for someone going through a difficult time.

   I tried to send this a few hours ago—–but I don’t think I saw a button to have you answer me
   I wanted to tell you I just read Child of Grace and enjoyed it very much–our library did not have it in book form and they were able to be able to get it from a library–way down in Florida—and we live in the Hudson Valley N.Y near West Point—–I only like to read from a book

   Our local library did not have Child of Grace but one of the library workers found it for me —located
   Taliahasses, Florida !!!!! That amazed me as we live in the Hudson Valley N,Y near West Point –CAN you imagine that !!!!!
   What is the name of the new Steeple Hill book that you said will be coming in the Fall of 2011
