Isla Frost is the pseudonym of a bestselling author of mystery fiction who is best known for writing urban fantasy as Frost. In many interviews, she has said that fantasy is something that she has always held dear to her heart.

She published “Shadow Trials” her debut novel in 2019 and now has more than half a dozen works to her name. She has made a name for herself writing fast-paced fiction with strong heroines that live in a world filled with adventure, magic, and danger.

She usually provides the latest updates on new releases on her website at

Isla Frost’s novel “Shadow Trials” immediately portrays a snapshot of Nova, the lead, her family, and the world that she lives in. The author masterfully captures everything and she instantly pulls in the readers who will get attached to the lead and her family.

At the opening of the story, she is saying her goodbyes as she leaves home to go attend the Fiorstborbn Academy – a very mysterious institution. It is at this moment that things turn from sweet to bizarre.
We are thrust into a world that comes with grudge-holding sentient homes, goblins with two heads, and beautiful creatures that only need to suck blood just once to earn the label of vampire.

It makes for a really strange story that will throw readers into a loop of emotions. Still, it is an enjoyable and light read, and the dynamic and humor between Ameline, Bryn, and Nova are very entertaining.

“Shadow Witch” the second novel by Isla Frost opens with Nova having been transformed. She wakes up to find that everything is fine and that her gift was very unique.

She is now ostracised and feared by the teachers and students alike. Now more than ever, she will have to rely on her friends for survival. The author then introduces Ellbereth her new nemesis, who does not think much of attacking Nova.

Even worse, one of the teachers seems to have an issue with her and threatens to ban her from class. She is fortunate that her friends protect her and stick by her side as much as they can.
Nova ultimately finds out what her relationship with Malus means to her in relation to her power and the future.

It is an entertaining and engaging work that draws readers in as it sets up the events of the third work of the series.

Isla Frost’s novel “Shadow Reaper” is the epic conclusion to the series as Nova is enjoying one of the best periods of her life. She lives in a world full of magic, even though it might require death magic if it is to be saved.

Nova had vowed to use her paranormal powers to destroy her nemesis that has been undefeated for more than one and a half centuries. But her biggest problem is that she does not know how to go about it.
As the two head to the front in an attempt to fulfill what seems like an impossible mission, they find themselves between daunting new revelations about their nemesis, an unpopular prophecy, and powerful political forces.

It is a brilliant story with an excellent storyline, character-building, and world-building.
