Publication Order of Andrew Mayhem/Harry McGlade Books
The man J.A. Konrath or Joseph Andrew Konrath, the best seller author and a very versatile novelist, is hugely popular for writing thrillers and nail biting novels that leaves the best ones tied to the book and utterly captivated under his spell of story telling. He also writes absolutely enthralling and frightening books, with just about a twinge of amusement and snark it it. For his horror novels, he usually goes by the name Jack Kilborn. His books are considered to be perfection in writing form and he has been awarded for the very same reasons. He has already sold over about a million books. He also happens to be a very firm advocate of self publishing as well as for the idea of self promotion for his books, for which the same reason, he also has a blog dedicated to the cause, telling the newbie authors all that they need to know about self publishing. However he is also widely known for his pretty much outspoken views for general publishing industries. He has blogged some posts such as about some 2012 accusations made by some industry pundits that Amazon has endangered the sales. As of currently, author J.A. Konrath lives in Schaumburg, Illinois, which is a western suburb of the state of Chicago. He is presently teaching writing at Dupage College, which is also in Illinois.
J.A. Konrath. or Jack, or even Joseph was born in the year 1970 in Stokie, III. He is now vastly known for his works in the genres of fiction, horror and mystery with added sense of humor. He had completed his graduation from Columbia College, that’s settled in Chicago, in the year 1992. He then spent the coming 12 years of his life in collecting up to almost an astounding number of five hundred rejections, collectively, for his nine unpublished novels. Finally, when his tenth book was sent for evaluation, it was selected by the publishing house – Hyperion. This had happened in the year 2003. The name of the book was Whiskey Sour and it turned out to be the first book in the best selling Jack Daniel series. The series feature Lt. Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels from the Chicago Police Department. After his success of the aforementioned, he wrote several articles and dozens of short stories that were so hugely popular, that they ended up being translated in eight different languages. He also is known for an edited anthology that is under the name, The Guns for Hire for the Bleak House Books. Apart from fiction, he has also penned down two non-fiction books which are “The Newbie’s Guide To Publishing”, which came out as a kindle edition only and “Be The Monkey: E-Books and Self Publishing: A Dialogue Between Authors Barry Eisler and Joe Konraht.”, which also came out only as a kindle edition and was sub authored by Barry Eisler.
The bestselling series that feature Jack Daniels, a female lieutenant, has have had eight parts till now, the last of which was published in the year 2011, under the title “Stirred.” The first book of this series was published in the year 2004 as “Whiskey Sour”. It is about a lieutenant, Jacqueline “Jack Daniels, who is apparently having a tough week of her own, where her live-in boyfriends dumps her for his personal trainer, her long term problem of sleepless nights or insomnia have resulted in her maxing out all of her credit cards due to her late night home shopping purchases online and there is frightening serial killer who calls himself “The Gingerbread” and has been leaving behind dead bodies all over in her district. She has to catch the serial killer because its only very soon that she finds out that she is next on his list. Even with a serious situation story line, it is not intense and the author has added all kinds of humor in it. She finds herself working on this case with her binge-eating partner “Herb” while she has to avoid FBI and their profiling computer, she joins an online dating website, she gets into acquaintances with the street thugs and she has to dodge the advances of a PI.
The next book in the same series mentioned above, is “Bloody Mary” which was published in the year 2006, by the same publishing house Hyperion. This story also revolves around the “badass” lieutenant, Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels, The story starts with the usual introduction the the hard and tough Jack, eventually adding in a hyperactive cat of hers, followed closely by her ailing mother, a pretty jealous boyfriend, a very high maintenance ex- husband, and finally throw in a partner suffering from mid life crises. The craziness only goes uphill when a psycho serial killer is added to the mix, who is scattering a trail of body parts all over the city. The serial killer that she remembers as one of the scariest serial killer in her recent memory. And the bad news is uncovered when she finds out the agenda of the killer, that getting caught by Jack was only the beginning of his master plan. Author J.A. Konrath continues his no bound humor and his sitting-on-the-edge-of-the-seat in this book of the Jack Daniels Mystery Series.
J.A. Konrath’s books are a pool mixture of humor of Janet Evanovich, Carl Hiaasen, Christopher Moore, added with the scare parts and writing styles of James Patterson, Thomas Harris and Patricia Cornwell. He has basically the rip offs of everyone, or we can say that he has the best parts from all genres and the bests of all writing styles from the best authors.
As for awards and recognition, J.A. Konrath has won the 2006 Bob Kellog Humanitarian Award as well as The Derringer Award for Flash Fiction in the year 2004.
